My main rig is a 7700K with dual 980Ti's which I use for Autocad and gaming. Most of the games and VR I play are still good with only one card.

Since SLI is not properly utilized on my rig, I'd like to put one of my cards in an external housing for my work machine. What is my best course of action to use one of my 980Ti's as an eGPU for my work laptop / Thinkpad w540?

I currently have a 50" NU7100 and (2) Asus VS248H-P monitors connected to my docking station(along with the laptop display), but the 2GB Quadro K1100M internal card is severely lacking for what I need.

Also, I have a KS8000 50" and (2) of the same Asus monitors at the house with another docking station. So it would be a major plus to be able to come home from work and re-dock to pick up where I left off.

Any suggestions for eGPU gear would be greatly appreciated as I need this ASAP.
