Ebay sale by my son.
Brand new unopened, sealed.
He already bought one last year.
Took a year in the queue.
Fair price......cost him 1000 once paid for tax and shipping.

Since it's new/sealed, I'd try StockX instead of Ebay. Probably net a slightly higher in pocket amount.

Naa stockX is 13 %, sign up for ebay store, lowest cost outside of direct p2p deals either local or online. Still sucks for the buyer because of taxes everywhere, selling for cost means a 20% upcharge to break even.

Ebay is still subject to shitty buyers, etc. StockX might cost a little extra, but they verify your item and no returns.

I'd seriously consider something like StockX. Between ebay's 'Money back guarantee' and the high likelihood of being scammed for something like a 3080.. I'd think twice.

I just went through this with a 3080 Ti BNIB I got in the shuffle. Tried to sell it for what I had in it plus the eBay fees, and it was a no go. Ended up sending the card and the motherboard that came with it back to Newegg. Things are still out of whack with prices, but I figured I'd try to help someone who couldn't get a card (even tried FB marketplace and another forum selling it for what I had in it minus the eBay fees). Hopefully by now your son sold his card on eBay.
