EVGA GTX560Ti 2GB at 1920x1080 is way to big!

I just installed a EVGA GTX560Ti 2GB card in my new PC (ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe GEN3, i7-2600K, Win 7 64 bit) along with the latest 285.62 driver.

It's connected to a Sharp 1920x1080 HDTV via HDMI.

At card settings of 1920x1080p the desktop is larger than the screen area. It overlaps so that only the very top edge of the taskbar is viewable, and the icons on the left and right edges of the screen are 2/3 hidden off of the sides of the screen.

To get the desktop to fit I had to change the resolution manually to 1824x1026.
Now the desktop fits but it is a tad blurry.

How do I get the 1920x1080 settings to match my monitor?

My former graphics card, an EVGA 8800GTS worked perfectly at this resolution.

It sounds like a classic overscan issue. Check your HDTV settings. See if there is a setting that is 1:1 mapping. You can read more about the issue here: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=34832

I have a setting on my 55" 1080p that "overscans", "underscans" and does 1:1 pixel mapping. Some HDTVs are different. More info here on pixel mapping: http://pixelmapping.wikispaces.com/Pixel+mapping+explained

You don't mention which Sharp TV it is, but if it is anything like mine, you want to set the View Mode to Dot By Dot mode. The TV remote should have a View Mode button, or it will be in the options menus, something like System Options -> View Options.

It sounds like it is in Zoom Mode.

I went through all of the TV menu settings and could not find dot-by-dot.
Thanks for the heads up on the tiny "view mode" button, I had not seen it.
Although I had it selected on the DVI input, I needed to select it on the HDMI input as well.
Problem solved.
