EVGA GeForce GT 640 vs GTS 450 ?

I'm a video card dunce so help me out on this one. I've owned a GeForce GTS 450 since they first came out and it performs just fine for the work I do on my PC.
I play an occasional game but mostly use my PC for Autocad and other work related apps. I just noticed the GeForce GT 640 and was surprised that it's PCI-E 3.0. I thought only the megabucks cards were 3.0.
Anyway wanted to ask if there's any advantage in technology of the GT 640 vs. the GTS 450. I do like the small size and no need for additional power. Lastly if PCI 3.0 is the new horizon, why isn't there any 'midrange' cards with it ?

Sorry, had to finish jacking off. As you can see the GT 640 runs cooler and consumes less power but is slower in every performance benchmark. But the 640 is new technology, so that means it also has the awesome power to run DX11 games extremely slowly as well.
 
I knew that would get someones attention LOL ! Thanks. So basically the two year old GTS 450 is still the better card ?
