EVGA 780i w/ Vista X64 Network / Share problems

Well I just did a fresh install of Vista x64 ultimate w/ SP1 slip streamed. So anyways, after its installed and was working fine. Went to "network" was able to find all the other pcs. A few more reboots and downloaded all the drivers for everything. I went to update the NIC drivers worked fine. Now Vista says I am not connected to any network or the internet but yet I am here. So I determined to 'roll back' drivers ok no go. Force install orignal drivers. No go. So I tried to 'connect to a network' vista says there are no wireless adapters. So now i'm stuck not being able to access any network shares at all from any of the other pcs.

I tried googling but I may have chosen wrong keywords. Any suggestions?

*edited* I did also do another fresh install thinking it was maybe in the order I decided to drivers for mobo / gfx / audio / etc... Same result.
