Ok I just got my new 750i FTW edition 4 days ago. It's been great... fast, stable, all good.
Then 2 nights ago, I started to go insane
Now, this might have been inevitable, but at this point I am going to blame it on the board.
So I noticed that twice, during gameplay(Silent Hunter 4, awesome), the game closes, I see my desktop.. 'Windows is Shutting down'. It shuts down(as I look on incredulously, not touching anything), and restarts itself.
I think hmm, thats the most friendly crash I've ever seen but ok, lemme check my temps.. all good. Let me check voltages, fsb settings etc. All good.
I leave the bios and return to Windows. Play again. Again the game shuts down and 'Windows is shutting down'. Again it restarts itself.
I play a different game hoping this is some insanely weird game bug. All seems well. I download the latest patch for Silent Hunter 4 and install it. Then shut down the computer and go to bed.
15 minutes later I hear the Vista theme as my computer HAS RESTARTED ITSELF.
I go in, WTF for a minute, and shut it down.
15 minutes later I hear the Vista theme as my computer HAS RESTARTED ITSELF.
I go in, and taking a minute to think how could this be happening, it says 'Windows is shutting down' and shuts itself off.
15 minutes later I hear the Vista theme as my computer HAS RESTARTED ITSELF.
1 minute later it shuts itself down.
I am incredulous. Either this is the most bizarre power management BIOS bug I've ever seen or I am losing my mind.
I am slowly losing control of it: Basically in the last day I don't have much control over whether it will shut itself down while I am trying to use it, or start itself up when I am away from it. CRAZY. Sometimes it's so bad it is turning on and off so fast it will come on and go off and come on again before the monitor even has time to wake up.
Surely I have a bad board yes? This can't be an option somewhere in the BIOS that I haven't found?
