As promised I said I would do a 650ti Linux Gaming Review. This will be my first [H] review so yall go easy on me. This is really targeted at a budget gaming box so the hardware involved is not the most impressive. **EDIT** I'm also going to include a Windows 8 Pro review because I ended up getting it for $40.

Test Rig:
OS: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS all current updates as of 25NOV2012
Processor: Intel i3 3220 @ 3.3
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-H61M-DS2 LGA 1155 Intel H61
Ram: 2x2GB Kingston Hyper-x 1600
GPU: EVGA 650ti SSC 2GB
PSU: PC Power and Cooling 550w Bronze (can't beat $25 shipped)
Hard Drive: Adata 128GB Sata 2
Case: NZXT Source 210 White
Disk Drive: Asus and an LG
Total Cost: $498 - I plan on selling the copy of AC3 that came with the card as well so -$40 off the price when it sells.

Cooling: Zalman 9900max that I had laying around, 3 120mm fans, 1 140mm stock fan. NZXT Sentry Fan Controller

Games being benched @ 1920x1080 *pending headaches to get running*
- Amnesia: The Dark Descent
- Skyrim w/ HD textures and better water mod
- Crysis
- Left for Dead 2
- Team Fortress 2 even though I hate the game
- Just Cause 2?
- Deus Ex: Human Revolution
- ***Maybe bf3 if I can get it to run, I haven't heard many success stories in Linux***
Add some requests, and if I have it I'll try to get it running.

This is going to be a major pain in the ass. The card gets here on Tuesday so expect an update then.

Should be getting here tomorrow. I might start installing steam and wine tonight to see if I can't get a head start on this project.

Amnesia works out of the box as expected.
Skyrim is being a pain so far
Crysis is being worked on
TF2 works
Just Cause 2 is being worked on
Deus Ex is doing some weird graphical glitch that I'm working on.

Ah, the joys of gaming on Linux. I am def interested in reading more. I've never had much luck on that platform.

Shit sucks bro. I can't get skyrim to run in 1080p. I know there are work arounds, but good Lord. This is a pain in the ass.

Updates for Windows 8:
Skyrim Run around Windhelm: ~54 fps
Battlefield 3: ~42-60 fps
Crysis: ~60 fps consistent

That's a lot of work you've cut out for yourself there!!
