Thanks Archaea , in for a pack! StoleMyOwnCar, a headlamp sounds smart too...
The bumps on the end of the light, can be used as a weapon of sorts. I had some lights several years ago from costco that got killed by some bad costco brand batteries exploding and corroding the contacts.
I wouldn't want a modern light without different levels but I'd be happy with no strobe mode. And while I usually tend to prefer two button interfaces I actually find the one button interface on my Olight flashlight more intuitive and easier to remember than the two button interface on my Nitecore lights so I'd say that good interface design is more important than a separate on/off button.
That said I'd probably spend a bit more and get a better single light, this could be handy to have them all stashed different places you might need them but I've always got a good keychain light on me for convenience.

Yeah what is the reasoning behind the stobe on virtually all led flashlights? Is it supposed to act as a blinding defensive thing? Or is it use as an emergency signaling type of thing?

These little flashlights are great, but at the same time, there is a reason why you always see them being sold by battery companies... They do tend to chew through batteries pretty quick.
I got a bigger LED flashlight that has two removable rechargeable batteries that charge via Micro-USB. It's the best of both worlds really, but was more expensive since the price was not subsidized by Duracell or Eveready.
I've found the feature to be amazingly useful. Set it to strobe and aim it at someone and there is a 99% chance that you will get their attention, potentially even during the day. Just one example; I used it recently to let a family member, who was mowing the lawn using a riding lawn mower, know that lunch was ready. I had already tried calling their cell, but the lawn mower is so noisy including vibration that they didn't know that their phone was ringing in their pocket.

I have a Streamlight MicroStream in my EDC for this reason. No strobe, but it's USB rechargable and tiny enough I rarely notice I'm carrying it.
You can get a light smaller than that that's still good. I use the Nitecore Tini 2 as my EDC and it's smaller than the fob for my car but has 500 lumens.

I just use rechargeable AAA batteries in those Duracell headlamp units.
I guess in a way they're kind of tactical, since they're small enough to be handled portably, and you can wear them on your head. That means that if you get into a fight with a bear or another large mammal out in the middle of the woods, both your machete hand and your other (but no less devastating I'm sure) unarmed hand will both be free. Plus you can switch modes on it in order to temporarily blind it so you can definitely go in for the kill with your machete. You can't do that with a handheld flashlight, which, despite its grooves, puts you at a distinct disadvantage in the melee.

I used it for biking at night for a while. Use less energy and make yourself more visible at the same time.

Seems reasonable, even though at night it tends to be quite annoying/painful as a driver
That said I was thinking more of the handheld ones, part of me thinks that all these light companies regardless of how it's made simply buy the same "standard" circuit board design, one click, low, another click, high, another click, strobe, another click off.t1337duder

These really are fantastic for lots of things. Would have been handy to have at the computer shop. I was also using them for working on my car. And the ones with a red light option are fantastic for sneaking around at night 🥷
Not a headlamp, but IMO the Fenix PD35 is the best flashlight around. Small, durable, bright, and long lasting with a good 18650 battery. My PD35 is ~7 years old and it's every bit as good as the day I bought it; stuff like OP is practically disposable which might be OK for keeping in the car for emergencies but otherwise

Yeah. I’m sure that’s true but…
$90 vs $2.50
The ever-ready lights are inexpensive and sometimes that’s all you need. They are of surprising quality. They have the three light modes, they also have the zoom/focus pull out feature on the lens. Surprising how nice for $2.50
Run on triple A batteries which are inexpensive and easily to come by.

Well hell I read the title as fleshlights and was trying to figure out who needed 4 ... I need to take a nap its been a long week.

They are all the same just picked one up off Amazon that has stobbing like in COD Ghosts and a Black Light. Use it for when I hear bumps in the night. Cost like 12.00 I was using a inspector Flashlight that has a uniform beam still use it for my PC case.

I've been using a streamlight microstream now for two years, and I use it a LOT! It is USB rechargeable, no strobe but you can double tap the power for high or low brightness. Fits great with my leatherman wave too. I used to do building and equipment maintenance, but it comes in handy around the house and doing IT too. Not much I couldn't do with this combo in a pinch, I just wish my Wave had the replaceable wire cutter jaws.
