EVE Online or bad eyesight

I'm using a Viewsonic VG2030WM 20" and playing EVE at 1680x1050...

is old age catching up to me or are the fonts in that game ridiculously small and hard to read?

I had to move the screen closer... really enjoying the game, just hate that it makes me feel like I'm going blind.
 
Ridiculously small. on my 20" at 1680x1050 it was hard to read. a 22" at 1680x1050 would probably be easier to read, or maybe running at a lower resolution. But in their defense there's just soo much information they need to fit on one screen.
 
Yeah. You want small. Even 1920x1200 doesn't display enough information for me.
 
I could read everything fine three feet away on a 24"@1900x1200. Isn't there a scale UI or scale font in the options?
 
Just want to confirm it isn't your eyesight :) It is too hard for me to read as well and I have 20/20 (ugh, 19.5/19.5 :()
 
The font used is harder to read at smaller sizes as well. Not enough curvature to let the eye see the proper shapes. Thus even though it may work with a normal (ala arial/times new roman) type of font, it *seems* smaller because it's harder to read.
 
Yea the font is pretty small - I was hoping with the new release that they'd try to fix it but nah...my eyeballs are literally <10" from my 15.4" laptop screen.

It is true though that there is probably nothing they can do since you need to have all those menus up.
 
2560x1600 is even smaller, but at least you can fit a lot on the screen a big benefit with this game :)
 
LCD's in general I believe are the culprit as well as age. About 6mths ago, I had to invest in a cheapo pair of pharmacy reading glasses. Used to have 20/20 vision but now, when I went to see an eye doctor, found out I have 20/50 vision. My right eye is a bit weak and I cant read small print for shit anymore. Wearing my reading glasses and playing EVE is a must for me or I cant read a damn thing in the game, its all blurry.

I have 2x21" CRT's and I have no problem reading stuff in eve...so yeah, LDC's is properly the culprit.
