I just started with a new wireless Internet company. They are the first in the country to roll out EvDO mobile wireless broadband.

incredible stuff I must say. I have been a wireless network engineer for the last 5 yrs... and this stuff impresses me.

I drove all over town, while downloading a 500MB video file from a public server, and averaged 592kbps. Spiked at 867kbps. Never dropped below 300kbps. All on a laptop with a PCMCIA card.

I won't spam the company name here...

Just wanted to share my good experience. Anyone else have any experience with this tech?
 
AND.... what are the pings like? Are they consistent?

Some wireless connections have a brief interruption like every 5 minutes.
 
we have 3,000 people on right now.

Pings are not blazing, but they are consistant. 150 - 200ms
