The porn industry should just start a league and recruit its own. I am pretty sure there is an audience there for hot chicks playing games.

ESL (Electronic Sports League) is cutting its association with pro group Team YP because its primary sponsor is the adult entertainment website YouPorn. The organization, which holds tournaments and ongoing pro seasons for a number of games, has enacted a new rule that prohibits any sponsors “widely known for pornographic … or other adult/mature themes and products,” according to an email that ESL officials sent to Team YP. This move comes as a direct order from ESL’s directors in what is a clear effort to purge YouPorn from ESL-backed events despite constant efforts by Team YP heads to separate its esports brand as a “safe for work” spinoff that does no direct promoting of XXX entertainment.

Breaking news, YP forms new Esports league where all are welcome regardless of race, creed or fast food preference.

In other news, teams are leaving the ESL at a lightning pace.

I hope the porn industry does start their own esports scene. Be sweet!

I kind of see why they did it. They are struggling for legitimacy as a real sport. So they are trying to distance themselves from the less "wholesome" sponsors. Avoiding the inevitable controversy, as well as not coming off as flesh peddlers. Kind of like how tobacco and alcohol were kicked out of motorsports. I view it as a simple financial decision.

I neither agree nor disagree with their decision. Though I do find it a bit hilarious that they are only just doing it now.

Yes, Motorsports....But we can have sponsors of big pharma, for pain killers, sleeping aids, boner pills etc etc, it is completely political in nature. This is also a team that is sponsored mainly by youporn, they already have nothing to do with "hot chicks", if you look at the team they all look like your normal geek gamer dude. They also offered to change the team name to something else that didn't even have YP in it. Even the teams own website is totally void of mention of youporn. I am sure there is something political going on behind the scene.

So fantasy blood, gore and violence is ok but fantasy sex is bad? Got to wonder about their priorities.

Yes. I know in America, this has become extreme. You can have movies with out right murder every 5 mins, and I mean bloody/gore etc, but the movie will probably only have a PG-13 rating. However, have a movie that only even has a sensual scene, and it will get the R tag. Priorities are completely backwards.

Not denying that possibility, nor claiming this is the way it should be. Merely that I can see their reasoning behind it.

I used to play a few games in guilds with a few pretty hot women, they sure as hell usually didn't make it a known fact.

Yet they still allow gambling and betting sites to be sponsors. Seems legit.

Gambling/Betting doesn't have the stigma that porn does. I get what you mean though, but ou have to remember that a lot of moves are done for how they get perceived. And porn is just a "no no, omg immoral" in the face of a lot of Americans, if not others as well.

I saw The Huntsman this weekend, which is rated PG-13, and I could see Jessica Chastain's nipples in the makeup scene between her and Chris Hemsworth.

Gambling, blood, guts, hyper violence. I thought we established this stuff was all OK in America but boobies and tobaco are not. ;)

Not condoning or agreeing, merely stating I understand given our current culture here in the US.

You know what... what is up with the whole nipple thing anyway? Why is the nipple the secret spot, I mean, most people value the full breast, but the nipple is the place of worship... I never really got that.

Is the 80 20 rule in play here haha?

The better question is why are mens nipples fine to show on Disney channel, but if its a woman its not?

I always found that weird, myself. Women find bare men chests just as sexually appealing as men find bare women chests.

I have found this as well, if the man is well built they find pecks very sexually attractive.

hey Betamax how did banning porn work out for you?

lol, a "real sport"

Fuck Twitch. I am going to start Twat.tv

Streamers who want to stream in the nude.

OMG..... ....... ....... .......... ............ Vibrators that vibrate when they are hit in game! Porn has just stepped up 3 levels!

Give viewers the option to remotely control the vibrating butt plug if they reached a certain donation level. Man, this might be my ticket to becoming rich.

True. Also remember that motorsports in general, became much worse after cigarette manufacturers got run off. Tobacco money brought us some truly great drivers, who otherwise wouldn't have been able to afford to rise to the top.
Today now all we have is a bunch of rich kids, competing with Daddy's sponsor money.

Though Playboy has thrown money into a variety of series.

And motorsports is still filled with scantily-clad women alongside the stars.

And IIRC, the ban on tobacco sponsors had nothing to do with the series wanting to cut out that money (as losing that hurt motorsports a LOT), but due to bans in individual countries that made it so teams could not run tobacco advertising at those races.

Its not like there is a large overlap of gamers and porn watchers....

oh wait..

Some one needs to make a comparison where mens boobs can be bigger than womens boobs in the senate and congress and SUE for discrimination and mandated man bras! :)
