So im looking for a monitor arm to mount a third LCD to to turn my dual LCD setup into an eyefinity/surround tri screen setup.

My only real requirements for the monitor arm is that it can swivel easily so I can watch TV in my bed, and that it has the ability to fold flush against the back of the desk so it doesnt take up much space and will be easy to position next to my other screens.
Literally all this screen will be doing is swiveling to the left, and then back next to the other two monitors (eyefinity conifg).

So, I figured that I could spend a few extra bucks on a nice ergotron monitor arm but I am confused on the differences and what would be best for my situation.

Ergotron LX Desk Mount - $130

Ergotron MX Desk Mount - $120

vs.

CPUTOPIA Single monitor arm - $40

Do you guys think that the ergotron arms are worth triple what the CPUTOPIA/monoprice style arm (It does look so). I have the dual CPUTOPIA monitor arms and they were great value and I havent had any real gripes about them. Stays in place and swivels easily too.

What is the difference between the LX and MX Ergotron mounts? I think the MX looks a little cooler but that doesnt translate into function. :p

Thanks in advance! I am just trying to figure out if I should cheap out, and put the extra money towards a 6990 + WC, or get a nicer arm and settle for 6950/70's with aircooling :(

shows the same part number in both auctions?

MX holds up to 30lbs and LX up to 20lbs. Similiar but different arm designs.

I have 2 LX aems and love them. Solid aluminum and much sexier than cheaper ones....

Hmm, good catch on the part number.
Anyway, I think I figured out what Im gonna do.
Get the cheap monoprice arm now, then upgrade all three to ergotron arms when I have more $. Saves me about $100 I can put towards the retardedly expensive 6990 (should have been $600-650). $750 is steep when your on a budget.
6990 over style I guess :(

There's a reason nearly every hospital in the USA uses Ergotron arms throughout their facilities.....
