I need a suggestion for keyboard and mouse for suffering from carpal tunnel. I'm not even 30 yet... *Sigh.

The Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic set (~$75) seems to be popular, I'm looking for other alternatives. I don't mind going up as high as double the price of the Sculpt if "justified."

This pain/soreness and numbness is ridiculous!

I am not sure about keyboard because I don't have an issue with it.

I do however have carpal tunnel twice within a 5 years time frame on my right hand. It happened, healed and happened again.

But in summary, I bought Anker Ergonomic Vertical Mouse. I used it for two years and so far, my carpal tunnel didn't come back.

The Anker Vertical Mouse has two versions, a USB version and a wireless version.

Good luck!

I also heard good things about Evoluent Vertical Mouse but they are fairly expensive.

You may also want to check your desk height and your posture. It can make a huge difference. Your forearm should parallel with the floor and it should be straight forward. It adds a lot of stress to your wrist, arm, and shoulder if it is crooked.

I've already gotten myself a standing desk with electronic adjustments, a dual monitor mount, and an ergonomic chair at the office with my own money. I've tested that Anker Vertical mouse, but I have to say that Microsoft Ergonomic Sculpt mouse's angle feels more comfortable, and obviously Anker has better thumb buttons over that stupid windows button on the mouse. Right now, more interested in a recommendation for the keyboard.

If I were to go with an ergo keyboard it would probably be the Ergodox. It's a diy keyboard, but it has a split profile and it's fully programmable. Ergodox left-board <> Kensington slim-blade or expert trackball <> Ergodox right-board would be a preferred ergonomic layout for myself if I went this route.

I'm 28. I suffered from rsi for two years, tried tons of things, including kinesis advantage keyboard and rollermouse (~$400 for both), eccentric exercise, rest, standing/treadmill desk, HM embody chair, wrist braces, grip strengtheners, trackballs, using left hand for mouse...

This is what cured me: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FA5SJS

It's written by a back doctor (a practicing MD), but it applies to rsi also

I know it sounds like bullshit, but just read it or listen to the audiobook. You can return it if it doesn't work. I'm now back to using a normal keyboard and mouse with horrible posture and ergonomics.
