5600x it is. If 6 cores isn't enough in the future, I'll do this thing called upgrade. Thanks much!

Totally agree, if you believe in what you presented on announcement day then at a minimum 24hours but would like to see more time than that between reviews and launch. No reviews until release is retarded.
Weird considering I imagine the vast majority of games are going to be GPU bottlenecked at 4K.in 4K gaming AMD is far behind Intel still![]()

Holy shit 5950X is boosting over 5GHz. I think some other of the models are as well.

Sure, if we can call a percent or lower "far".in 4K gaming AMD is far behind Intel still![]()

He might be being sarcastic but I can’t tell through text lolSure, if we can call a percent or lower "far".
Techpowerup did not show 5ghz for 5600x, 5800x, or 5900x
AMD also advertises a max boost clock frequency of 4.9 GHz and this should be achieved in single core or lightly threaded workloads. In the Cinebench single core test the 5950X typically operated at 5 GHz or 5050 MHz to be exact. That’s 150 MHz over the advertised spec.
uh huh. I was simply saying that techpowerup did not show 5ghz on the other models. The post I quoted said that other models mite be. But it seems they are not. From Techspot:

Its possible that some golden chips might. As AMD is not artificially limiting anything.
I'm very impressed with the 5600X:
Yeah I'm in a similar boat, my 8700k at 5.1 will tide me over for a while still. I game at 1440p @ 165hz (that is when my 1080 ti can keep up) too. Now for my Plex server with a 1700x, the 3600x is looking awful tempting! The single core performance jump from first gen Ryzen will be huge. Too bad my x370 board will have to retired, no I didn't have any hopes of it supporting the new cpus lol.Hmmmm tbh I was expecting more gaming performance. The 5600X performs identical to my 8700K at stock, runs 100mhz less but also uses slightly less power. Guess I'll be waiting longer for Zen 4 or the new intel chips specifically for gaming of course.
In hindsight my 8700K purchase 3 years ago at $380 was money well spent. I'll probably not end up upgrading my Ryzen 3600 for my HTPC lol
BUT if you're a new buyer there's no reason to go intel right now.
