anyone ever heard of this brand...? it's supposed to be out of Japan (no heatspreaders)...

surprisingly I have some DDR2 i got form a HP laptop with heatspreaders and they are great

Elpida is a company consisting of the DRAM factories of Hitachi, NEC, and Mitsubishi.

Generally, heat spreaders are not a sign of good quality but of the opposite, but Samsung makes some DDR3 modules with them.

The best stuff I've seen comes with no heatspreaders. (Mostly Crucial, which is part of Micron, which does the NAND Manufacturing with Intel. So they know their shit)

I actually got a decent price for 2x2GB of this. I have been running it for about a week or two and have not had any problems. I have it mixed with some Crucial 2x1GB but hey, it works for me.
