In a podcast with Joe Rogan, Tesla CEO Elon Musk talks AI and smokes a little "marijuana inside tobacco." The podcast was filmed in California, meaning the joint was perfectly legal, but that apparently didn't console investors. Tesla stock is already down 6% today.

Check out the video here.

Inhaled or not this sets a bad example to his employees. Which like any major company it is not acceptable and will be terminated for.

Who fucking cares!

Its legal in CA, most influential people use pot or stronger drugs, its no different than if he drank a beer on the air, and lastly Joe Rogan has the best podcasts.

I will say it made me like Elon even more. Gave him some humility and appear less robotic.

Anyone who is horrified or shocked should go for a long walk and calm down.

Tesla stock being down 6% has nothing to do with him toking weed. However, that podcast did highlight an issue with Elon's companies. He doesn't see himself or act as a CEO, but as a CTO of his companies. This is very problematic from a corporate structural point of view. He really needs to step down from being CEO(s) and find someone to fill that position, much like Bill Gates did. The problem is he doesn't trust anyone due his past experience in companies.

I'd be terminated at my company. We get hair tests. I think in large part due to our company being based out of a non-legal state, but we also have federal contracts, and unless the law changes on a federal level, things at my company will stay this way. Fortunately, I love working here, and they treat me well, so it's an ok trade-off. Still for someone that isn't under my constraints, there is ZERO reason for this to make any difference at all. They aren't digging him out of a flop-house after a heroin bender. He smoked a puff of a spliff on a podcast. There's a difference, and people should realize that.

He also basically said it was stupid because he values productivity.

He basically said its fine if Joe wants to be a hippie but he had work to do.

He took maybe a puff, didn't inhale, and handed it right back. In a state where it's completely legal.

Fake news. Leave Elon alone.

Exactly. It's the equivalent of having a beer. I hate our fucking culture nowadays... everyone pretends to be saint-like and virtue signal when they do the same shit behind doors and/or worse.

Where do you think he gets his good ideas from like Underground tunnels in major cities submarines and launching cars in outer space.

I am in a legal state, CO, and my company is the same. Just cause the state allows it does not mean your company has to. My company can even test you for booze during work hours. They don't but its perfectly legal for them to do so.

If you are a former Tesla worker who got fired after failing a random drug test for pot, yeah this is shitty and unfair. But from the perspective of investors, who cares if a CEO smokes pot? (Compared to the other actually stupid shit Elon has done.)

If you want a chance to get Tesla stock cheap, now's your chance. Nothing changed with regards to Tesla's ability to make a profit, yet the stock is down big. Screams buying opportunity.

Yeah, but how are fast food stocks doing today...?

...or straight submersible rescue craft intended to traverse sharp bends in underwater caves, for that matter.

Not quite seeing the implode.

The implode is just a lot of things stacking up that are giving investors pause. Like him going from insinuating that a rescue diver is a "pedo" to now saying that the diver has a child bride with no proof, and thinking you can just go off the record by saying something is off the record after you say it. He should know by now that the reporter has to agree to that as well. https://www.theguardian.com/technol...-cave-rescue-is-child-rapist-without-evidence

It seems it will take a while for "weed" to lose the negative stigma.

If he had a glass of wine, would there be a story?
