You never know.. it could appeal to a younger audience.. like kids just getting into gaming and RPGs.. probably much younger .. but I think this is mainly for fans of the original getting to see it modernized… and I never joined the thieves guild and went that route.. so was thinking that might be a fun way to play it through. If it works for you then that’s all that matters. The only real opinion that actually does matter about any game is yours.
I just think that a modern audience… or a younger group… will not accept Vanilla Oblivion gameplay. I could be wrong but I’d be shocked honestly.
Also… yes, you’re right… nothing has been confirmed.

Man the Skyblivion team has to be going “SOB” right about now.
Well.. I guess we find out everything tomorrow.
Ya well... This is frequently a problem with really ambitious community projects. They take so long, they are obsolete by the time they complete, if they ever do. While people like to shit on game studios for how long things take, it really does take a lot of work to make a big game.Man the Skyblivion team has to be going “SOB” right about now.
I mean they WERE powerhouse graphics in 2006. It really showed off the Xbox360 which was a hitter at the time, and to really get it running well on the PC at high rez/FPS you needed an 8800. I was amazed at how cool it looked. Of course almost 20 years later it looks pretty dated, you would hope there would be progress such that it does. The PC Gamer review from 2006.

I still remember the first look outside after I escaped the sewer. The graphics were definitely top of the line for the time.I mean they WERE powerhouse graphics in 2006. Why? I'd rather play that than this.Man the Skyblivion team has to be going “SOB” right about now.
Stepping out of the sewers still leaves me in awe every time. I don't think any other TES game has had a moment like that, or any other WRPG in general.I still remember the first look outside after I escaped the sewer. The graphics were definitely top of the line for the time.
I also remember accidently pickpocketing a guard shortly afterwards and being on the run from guards the entire rest of the game.
I can't remember if it was the first, but it was for sure one of the first games I ever saw with an HDR rendering pipline and the associated ability to do camera like changes in brightness. There was a lot, visually, to be impressed by.I still remember the first look outside after I escaped the sewer. The graphics were definitely top of the line for the time.

If it’s remade like Dead Space 2023 was then it’s basically a new game, so, yeah, the price should be $70.There was some leaked info that said this was going to be $70? If so...hell nah.

Meanwhile, the Last of Us Part II Remaster is only $50. Try again. If it’s remade like Dead Space 2023 was then it’s basically a new game, so, yeah, the price should be $70.
When you go to the movies and you see a remake, you don’t say, I want this movie to be half price because this is an identical version of a movie that was made twenty years ago.
You’re not entitled to a discount just because you played the earlier version.

I realize that. That’s not why I wrote lol. Do I really need to explain it?
Multi QUOTE ftw. No need to make 5000 posts to spam the threadYou don’t know what ‘this’ is yet.

lol
Movie does not have good dynamic pricing, they sometime use convoluted ways to charge more for big movies, but often a good seat for the latest 3 hours Star wars cost the same as a bad seat for a 80 minutes small indie (outside the special sound-giant screen-3d format convoluted way because there is no dynamic pricing). When you go to the movies and you see a remake, you don’t say, I want this movie to be half price because this is an identical version of a movie that was made twenty years ago.
Kind of., I am a bit slow because I have no idea what was laughing out loud funny there ?I realize that. That’s not why I wrote lol. Do I really need to explain it?

Yes, you laughed at the idea of oblivion having good graphics for 2006 by quoting pc gamer then saying "lol", why deny it?
I mean it will be on game pass I am pretty sure. So what $10 to play it?
Now, yeah I would rather have it in my steam library. But, IF it has proper RT and lets me use DLAA. I would GLADLY take an TES game in the UE5 engine. Specially if they reworked shields/stealth etc. I would totally pay $70 for that.
Guess we shall see
That's not in what you wrote, nor reasonable to infer from it.Beam me up, Scotty.
You really can’t see the humour in someone from a previous era praising something that, by today’s standards, is antiquated? I’m completely aware that Oblivion’s graphics were phenomenal for the day because that’s exactly what I thought too.
Sorry, but I don’t know how to explain humour to you. I mean, wtf?
Dude, let it go.That's not in what you wrote, nor reasonable to infer from it.
Huh? I think you quoted the wrong person.Dude, let it go.
Boring. Before everyone starts bitching about the price, or saying that the fan-created thing will be better, we really should wait until tomorrow to see what this release actually is.
Then why do you keep posting about it?I think that nobody cares about this crap.
Wait for the release of the actual game. Everything hinges on whether or not this game was completely remade from the ground up - and that’s including re-worked dialogue.
This will determine the price of the game and, in all likelihood, the audience.
yup. keeps talking about it, tells people to stop talking about it...Then why do you keep posting about it?
Why do you? Then why do you keep posting about it?
I'll be waiting for a sale on this one... I'll probably play it over the course of a long time, so I'd rather own it.I'm hoping it's on Game Pass.
