So I have my newly traded for rig in my newly painted (interior anyway) Haf 912. I also have 2x 200mm fans on the way (both black with no LED's). Well I am using an MSI 890Gxm motherboard which doesnt give me shit for extra fan control as its only got 1 extra onboard controller. Well I have been eyeballing the SILVERSTONE FP33-B from newegg for 29 bucks shipped because I would prefer the controller end up in the Extra oddball PCI slot (or one of the lower PCI slots since I have a few extra below the motherboard).

Anyhow I Figured that was alot to spend So I checked ebay to see if I could find one cheaper & I found this guy.. For 7 bucks shipped I pretty much ordered on the spot. Well I was wondering if anyone has used these cheapo china fan controllers with any luck be it good or bad.

I will probably end up using it just to drive the 2x 200mm fans as I will most likely remove the extra 120 from the back (the 200mm above it should remove plenty of air). And use the extra fan controller on the motherboard to add a pull fan to my Hyper 212+ (has a gently typhoon pushing right now & its bloody hell loud which isnt cool)

I'm in the same situation as you. I have a CM 922 and I need to control the front 200mm fan and the top 200m fan but my motherboard only has one fan controller.

I guess I'll be subscribing to this thread ;)

While I am at it.. Anyone use any of these 2 way PWM fan splitters (to do the push pull on my 212+)

Well I hope these splitters work. I just ordered one from newegg along with the CoolerMaster BladeMaster fan to match the other that came with my Hyper 212+ for a Push Pull hopefully fully PWM controlled.

For $15 you can get a Sunbeam 4 channel 20 watt per channel fan controller... that controller does only 8 watts, and it's probably 8 watts total. That's little more than two watts per channel. Considering those two large fans take about 2 watts each... that fan controller can probably only handle 1 fan per channel before it blows up.

Which does no good if I dont use it because that wont go into a PCI slot.

Edit: Oh & its 21 dollars not 15 (atleast on newegg w/ shipping)

So, I was doing some research on a 200mm fan for my HAF 922 and I realized that a side panel fan would be a intake fan which would require a fan filter. I coudln't find a decent fan filter for a 200mm fan but there are plenty for 120mm fan. I decided to purchase a fan filter:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036WTDHK
with: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0026ZPFDE

The fan has a high CFM with low dba.

I didn't stop there. I wanted to upgrade my HYPER 212+ to a push/pull configuration. I ordered a cooler master pwm fan: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0030DL37I
with a pwm splitter: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812123298

Lastly, I want to be able to control my case fans. I was on the fence between scythe kaze : http://www.amazon.com/Scythe-Kaze-M...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1303680933&sr=1-2

and NZXT sentry 2: http://www.amazon.com/SENTRY-Touch-...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1303680959&sr=1-1

I went with the sentry 2 because I can control up to 5 fans which leaves room for upgrades in the future. The total cost was around ~$60.00

Lmao I have the same splitter and fan ok the way from newegg for my 212 also. Going to try the ebay fan controller 1st though since I font want a bay mounted controller. With a pair of 200'si don't think I will have any problem keeping shit cool in my haf 912 with the fans about half speed.

The only problem i have with the sentry2 is that i cant put my fans below 40%

whats the point of a fan controller if you are going to run the fans at 0..

Well the option is there if you want to use it. The idea use for turning off fans is probably when your not in an intensive application.

It is one fan that's louder than the rest even at 40 i want it quieter but i have to have it running as it is my PSU fan.

Like i said its my PSU fan, It wont be in my computer to much longer.

lol.. Yea I wouldnt let that fly.. Honestly though I dont know if I am even going to use the fan controller that this whole post was about. I got the 1st of my 200mm fans installed & I cant hear the damn thing.

My system went from being fairly loud (gently typhoon on 50% on the CPU & 2x 120mm standard coolermaster fans) to dead silent (stock coolermaster blademaster fan on cooler & a single 200mm fan in top).

So I am waiting on the 2nd 200mm fan & the 2nd coolermaster blademaster fan (for push pull on the hyper 212+) before I put this beast back togeather. But I must say its coming together alot better then I expected.

Can you run a testing program like prime 95 or Intel Burn test (yes, it will work with AMD) and tell me how loud your computer sounds when the pwm fans kick up the RPMS?

once its back together I will.. Right now I have neither side panel or the front on it. Its kind of a black skeleton sitting there holding my components.

So I finally got everything & got it together (was waiting on one of the black 200mm coolermaster fans). Right now I have 2x 120mm stock coolermaster fans & one of the 200mm fans on the el cheapo controller. Well it does what its supposed to.. No smoke or anything with all 3 fans maxed which is good. But it is lowering the speed of the 2x 120mm's & running the 200mm at max (there damn quiet & I cant hear them anyway). Also the PWM splitter is also doing its job with 2x coolermaster blademaster fans on the Hyper 212+. So I can honestly say before I ordered this had 912 I did not own a coolermaster product (& hadn't in years). Well I am pleasantly surprised with everything. Total of 6 fans (2x 200's 2x 120's & 2x 120 pwm's). I Cannot hear my system at all. If I get down on the ground next to it I can barely hear it over my d-link router on the the room.
