what did that have to do with editing a thread title? :p

the fact that seems to be the default answer to everything in this forum

seriosuly, pm a mod, ask nicely, they are normally cool about it

Editing a thread title is limited to 10 minutes. This gives you enough time to fix an obvious typo or whatever. It has been abused in the past, so the limit stays. If you want a thread title changed after that, just PM the mod for that forum.

We are looking into some vBulletin customization that would allow unlimited title changes in the FS/T forum where offerings can change. But to be honest, I've had to start putting my foot down, because we can't keep changing every thread title every day just because you sold/added something or changed a price.

Uhh, it'd take about 5 minutes and a few file edits to make possible. What exactly is there to "look into"?

odd, i really think i did that once,

i had the word fuck in the title. and i saw that, so i changed it, and it changed it just fine.
im also a paid member.

any mods wanna comment?

this was in genmay soapbox

as Lethal said you can edit the title for the first 10 minutes

Like everything else on the board, the priviledge was abused early on. It was especially rampant in GenMay. The trick was to post an outrageously obscene title get plenty of attention and then change it to something normal.....this could go for several hours before being detected by a mod...the filters and thread reporting have come a long way since then, but it was decided long ago to give the thread starter a 10 minute window in which to make corrections, after that it requires a mod's help to make changes. :)

I did not know about the 10 minute rule.
Good info.
I am glad I read this thread.

i hope something is done about the FS/FT thread. thatd be really helpful.

could somebody post a link to the page of the diff mods? id like to know what mods moderate what section.
