I've gotten my dvd discs ripped to my harddrive but I can not find <b>free</b> software to convert the .vob files to mp4. Im on Windows too, so Mac software wont work. I was trying to use Videora but it wont work with a dvd ripped by anything other than dvd decrypter I think (it only allows you to choose 1 vob file). Buuut, dvd decrypter doesnt work with newer dvds anymore since the copy protection must have changed.

If you're on windows I think you'll find Handbrake is going to dissappoint you.
Older versions not so great. New versions...better. Rather nice, actually. It'll do OCR for softsubs as well. You'll want DVDFab HD Decrypter or AnyDVD, obviously.If you're on windows I think you'll find Handbrake is going to dissappoint you.
