Dumb question time. ;)

Santa brought me a DVD burner. :D I want to order some blank DVDs, but which kind do I want? My burner is DVD-/+R, so either will work for me. What's the difference between DVD+R and DVD-R media?

Also, is there such a thing as a dual layer DVD-RW?

It's been my experience that it really depends on what you want to burn and how you want to burn it.
I have a LiteOn as well as Sony DVD burners, and find that for data and movie backups -R (movies) and -RW (data) work great.

I use Sony branded -RW and Memorex branded -R's, neither has ever given me a coaster @average 1 full disk burn a week.

I have used both and had no problems with them ... just check with the players first ... some won't play one or the other ... specially older players ...

Thanks guys...I think I'll stick with the DVD-Rs. Is there such a thing as a 16x blank DVD, yet?

Also, my DVD burner is made by "Micro Advantage". Does anybody know if they make their own drives, or just relabel someone elses? I know my "Pacific Digital" CD burner is actually made by Lite On.
