Hey guys, been a long time . I am considering a GTX 560TI. they show dual Dvi and one mini HDMI

I currenty have three monitors, will be gaming on my 1680x1050 unit but want to be able to span 3 monitors when I am doing things other than gaming. Can I use a mini hdi to vga adaptor for and have three monitors running as one desktop when I am not gaming?

Thanks in advance and do please dont laugh, i am still getting over head injuries and neck surgery so research is to much work right now. You guys are my short cut

No sorry :(, not at this time you need 2 Nvidia GPU's for three monitors

No, almost every (I think every) non professional video card only has 2 clock generators, which each output requires.

The reason you can connect 3x monitors to an AMD card with DP is because DP does not require a clock generator.

There are some Nvidia cards with DP output as well, but I'm not sure if they will enable 3 displays on one card since I'm not sure how DP was added to them.

DP needs clock generator too. What you mean is DVI and HDMI need a TMDS generator, which is a bitch, because that signal is very complex.

NVIDIA cards with DP don't enable a third monitor unless they use a DP hub (which makes your three monitors as at a single big screen and is an annoyance) - you can tell from having 2, 3 or more DP outputs.

So if i go ATI , say 6950, is there a display port to vga adaptor . I have no Screens that take display port

If you go ati you can make it work using an adapter. If your screens are less than 2560x1440 you can use a mini dp to dvi or mini dp to hdmi.

Just so you know there is a solution on the nvidia side, 2 in fact.

However Note that you'll have to pay extra to get this done.

There is also a Zotac GTX 560 Ti multiview model which you can find reviews for online but I can't seem to locate it anywhere.

Both these cards seem in excess of $320.00 and it makes no sense, your better off getting a 6970 or 6950.

The Nvidia dual-GPU cards usually allow connecting 3 or more monitors.

GTX 295 (dual-PCB variant)
GTX 460 2Win http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130626 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130653, only difference seems to be the warranty

GTX 590 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121470

The multiview cards often have silly resolution or other limitations.

The other Zotac multiview card seems not for sale in North America.

Thanks for all the input guys. I ended up ordering a 560TI FPB from Newegg@ 239.99 and there is a 10 rebate from EVGA. Not a bad deal I need to sell my 275 but eventually I can add another budget card for the third monitor.

Should be a little faster than my 275 and DX11. I should be fine at 1650x1080

Another option would be two monitors on the card and one on your integrated video output (if you have that) This assumes you arent gaming on all three monitors.

Only gaming on one monitor,no integrated as evidenced by my signature

Then my suggestion is invalid. :(

didnt read your sig

no worries, i appreciate your trying to help. I will eventually add a second low end card with sufficient power to offer some physics support in gaming while offferin the utility of running my 3rd monitor.

Galaxy GTX 560 Ti MDTX5

There are some really odd limitations on this card, though.
As far as I understand you can only use 4:3 aspect monitors for over one monitor use and a bunch of other dumb things.
The card makes no sense when we have AMD cards that perform flawlessly.:D

Yes his terminology is correct. Good call.
