Dual video cards are almost identical, but not quite - is it a problem?

Ok so I have 2 video cards, I thought they were both Asus Nvidia G-Force 9800GT cards and they look almost identical except for a some resistors etc. They have the exact same model #, different serial #'s though obviously.

Is this going to be a compatability problem when running them together?

I know you need the same card to be able to run them at the same time and I had this exact setup work fine for years, but I had to get another 9800 GT because the one went bad.

I thought I got the exact card, spent hours cleaning it up (it was used) and I put them next to each other and noticed some slight differences. One was manufactuered in China, the other Taiwan, not sure if that has to do with anything.

I just hope they will work together so I can run a 3 monitor setup.

Shouldn't be an issue: I have a MSI and XFX card running in Crossfire.

Were you planning on running SLI with those cards?
If you SLI them, I don't think you can do 3 monitors. If you run them as a pair of singles, you should have no issue.

Yeah as long as you don't run them in SLI, you'll be fine running 3 monitors.
