dual monitor setup with one monitor (vga vs bnc)

I have a sony gdm-fw900 (crt) with two types of inputs: VGA, and BNC.

I want to compare the picture quality between these two inputs, but without having to reconnect the cables from my vid card output (I have dual dvi output on my 9800GT).

My hope was to be able to use dual monitors to set up both inputs on the same display, so I could just use the input switch button on my monitor to quickly compare, but I'm having trouble setting it up.

I think part of the problem is that nvidia control panel keeps detecting the second display as simply an analog monitor. I've tried setting it up so that the BNC is the sole input, and setting up the drivers properly, but when I add the second input, it seems to redect the BNC input as an analog monitor.

I think I got it to work once, but not sure. Also, when I reboot, device manager keeps adding "default monitor", so I end up with like 5 monitors installed. (I'm using winxp)

Does anyone know of a surefire way to accomplish what I'm trying to do here?

thanks!
