Dual LAN - How do I share files with my laptop?

My Desktop motherboard has Dual LAN ports. I'd like to connect my Laptop to the second LAN port on the Desktop, so I can transfer some large files to the Laptop.

Both machines are running Windows 7.

How do I go about doing this?
