Hey guys I was considering getting a MBP. I do quite a bit of development and dual display spanning is very helpful. Is this possible with a MBP? I would use the screen on the laptop for the second screen.

Yep, dual displays is no problem :)

I believe the MBP supports everything upto and including the 30" displays.

Currently I'm using a Samsung 22" LCD as my second display and other than a slightly slower expose (see my thread on this page) it works beautifuly :)

I think he means MBP+2 more displays. It can be done with Matrox products but you won't be gaming across both screens.

Edit, no, you were right. Yeah, of course it does that. Thats what the DVI port is for :)

Most certainly. No problems with my HP 2207w (1680x1050) and that's on a first gen Core Duo 2 GHz MBP

works great

if you were thinking 2 monitors + LCD, no, i dont know of any laptops that would let you, if they have them, both the VGA and DVI out + LCD, it is LCD+ one or the other.
