It looks like auto makers are getting on board with new MP3 capabilities to further integrate easy to use features for your music player.

Leading the charge is Ford Motor, which at the Detroit Auto Show January 9 introduced a new factory-installed, in-car communications and entertainment system called Sync, developed in partnership with Microsoft.

Thats something we are heavily working on, car entertainment systems.

I'm just waiting for the RIAA to start going ape nuts, like they did on the portable XM player that we developed too.

Ockie, when you say we, who are you refering to?

I like the fact that MFGs are adding options for people to add in their own music and what not but I'd like to see universal doc, or perhaps a fitting that could use and adapter to be universal. Basically you'd get in your car, put your player in the doc and it plays through the raido, charges just by being docked, you could also transfer item info and controls to the head unit. Now that would be sweet.

Company I work for, I'd prefer not to disclose that :) I'm sure you probably know ;)
