Download issues form Yahoo mail

Sold an extra system to a friend for her father.....1 gig PIII 512 meg memory, 40 gig HDD with XP pro installed. All patches and security updates downloaded, and Office 2000 installed as well.

Seems to be having problems downloading attachments form yahoo mail.....locks up the system and he has to hard boot the system. He installed Norton on it.......anyone have any suggestions of things I can have him try before I replace the rig?

His internet connection is dial up.

Sucker worked like a dream on my bench....no issues downloading drivers or all the updates for XP

Ask them to uninstall norton everything from that computer and see if the freezes stop

*forgot to ask, did you use the modem in your place? some cheap brands of modems cause random failures on perfectly stable computers
