I know that the i440bx doesn't like double sided ram and will only see half of my ram.

My question is even though my 256mb dimm shows as 128mb will this lead to errors or any instability? Will pairing this dimm with another 256mb dimm create any problems or should it work theoretically?

I have ran double density ram on several older machines and the only thing lost was the extra ram it could not see.

I've also run high density RAM on older chipsets with no problems. It seems a shame to lose half of the capacity, but as expensive as low density RAM can be, taking the hit can be the cheapest way to go.
