I am not sure about you guys, but I bought the DOOM soundtrack so I would have a high bitrate version to blast in my car while tearing up the back twisty roads here in Texas. If you do not get your road rage going easily, the DOOM soundtrack will remedy that for sure. This video from GDC gives you a very in-depth look at what went into making all the music that graced DOOM's last release. It even gives insight into some of the easter eggs in the music, and lets us know that one is still yet to be found. I am not a big audiophile, but I even listened through the entire hour. I was kind of sad when it ended. Very cool stuff.

Only half way through the video, but I'm giggling like a little girl. Good thing the office is practically empty. The effects loop he setup is insane. It's amazing that the input was able to get that dynamic naturally. He truly is an evil genius.
 
When I play BFG Division in my truck, I’m ready to plow mofos in Prius’s out of the way!!! Smartcars too, I dislike those.

Had a sneaking suspicion there would be a Iron Maiden number of the beast reference in there.

The music is one aspect of this game which sent it over the top for me. Also made a point to get high bit rate of this soundtrack. Enjoy listening with 1,200 watt amp and 15" 5-way speakers in my garage/workshop. Actually thought there was a rodent or something rummaging around inside the cabinets once. Just tools vibrating to sub sonics. :D
 
This is so good. Even the little inspirational/pep talk about overcoming the fear of failure is awesome.
 
FL Studio FTW ;) One thing that would be really need is taking one of those 13 PCIe slot mining motherboards and loading it up with UAD DSP cards :sneaky: oh man the crazy amount of audio processing power that beast would have is all I have to say about that!
 
....was I the only one that edited out the 'mus' files from Doom2 and played them on their computer? Found a player with a reputation for playing all types of game sound files called XMplay although winamp could play them with a plugin. Still use xmplay since its really lightweight but If I want something more extensive I have a few of the more versatile media players.

Actually converted the mus files, similar to midi to MP3's so it would be easier to play but wasnt really necessary since 99% of the time I got the urge to hear some doom tunes I was at the computer.

Wound up making a playlist of all of the unique tunes from all of the id doom versions including a few of the mods.

Background sounds, similar to techno but with the 'id' edge. Still play them from time to time :cool:
 
I still throw on the track from time to time, but I have to be honest I can't tell the difference between a high bitrate track and a low one (YouTube). Might be because of the intense bass in the tracks but it's still fun to nock shit off my walls.

Even my kids dig it. The best game sound track hands down.
 
I watched this earlier, my God this man is an inspiration.

For those that haven't heard DOOM 2016's soundtrack, it's free to listen to on YouTube. It is amazing.
 
Mick Gordon also did the Killer Instinct soundtrack too. It's great as well.

This has, and will always be a favorite perspective for me. It is strange, not many think of the boundaries that are created by their comforts. I really enjoyed his advisement and inspiration to others. He truly made some good music.

You're damn skippy I do. Hell, I have different play lists for the various loops I run between Austin and Camp Wood. It's actually on any device I have that plays digital music. Always nice when you can indulge in some "Rip & Tear" after you pwnt that gnarly escalation the scrub on the previous shift couldn't figure out.

Holler if you wander down to the hills and want a playmate. I also take car clubs on cruises all the time.
