Dolby Atmos Upward Firing Speakers vs Ceiling

Does anyone have experience with both? I'd like to know if there's a big difference in terms of quality. Also how high was the ceiling in the upward firing setup?

In-Ceiling is the way to go, better feeling of "height". Upward-Floor speakers are a compromise. My room was 8.5ft high.

Upfiring is fine but is inferior to ceiling mounted.

The modules are expensive, very hard to aim due to reflections and don't quite offer the same soundstage. But they do work for those who can't mount or run cables in their ceiling.
