Does your monitor make any sort of noise when it's on?

Does your LCD panel make any sort of electrical noise while on?

Just a quick poll. I've had a few LCD panels that emit slight buzzing/humming while turned on, and I'm curious how common this is.

I voted "No". My LP2475w is dead silent unless I squish my ear against the top of the bezel, at which point I hear a faint buzz.

Well, I voted yes, but just because my parents LCD TV makes a really high pitched buzz sometimes. I can hear it (from across the room), they can't. One of the perks of being young I suppose.:p btw I believe it is a Samsung LNT-4065f.

On the other hand, My Benq G2400WD is dead silent.

Are you comparing a LCD monitor or a LCD TV? You have listed a LCD tv in you sig.

My LCD monitor is dead silent.

Both of mine play a musical tone when they are turned on, but no sounds after that,

NEC 20WMGX2 (new) - No
NEC 20WMGX2 (refurb, returned) - Yes (hum), when in standby
NEC 20WMGX2 (replacement) - No

Almost all my PC CRTs buzzed (although quietly).

no noise, if I had a buzzing noise it would concern me as thats a sign of a failing part.

LG L203WT - silent
Samsung 245T - humms for a few seconds after I turn it on, then i can't hear it anymore.

I do have a Samsung Plasma TV 50A650 that humms all the time.

Good poll idea :)
NEC 2690 not silent with 240V. But I got used to it.

Samsung 225bw sometimes has a nice buzz until I tap (beat on) the side...

DoubleSight DS-305W 30" LCD does not make any noise. I think it also helps that it has an external power brick that goes on the floor but that doesn't make any noise either.

HP w2207 here..... nary a sound. :)

The Lenovo Thinkvisions L201Ps I use at work are silent as well.

My 20WMGX2 makes a sound (faint capacitor whine?) while in standby, it's loud enough that I turn it off completely after I turn off my PC so I don't have to listen to it.
