Anyone know if Windows XP MCE 2005 support Athlon X2 Dual Core CPU?

Ask yourself if XP Pro supports it. That will be your answer.

Yes, and Home as well. Apparently MS counts the number of sockets, not processors.

It's XP Pro with it a few extra services built in.
Actually it's not. It started that way, but MCE05 is a new animal. It's a whole class of XP like Pro and Home.

There are a few differences, IIRC MCE05 doesn't support domain logins.

Interestingly enough though, its actually Pro modified. If you take an MCE disk and upgrade a home installation, you will end up with Pro and it won't have ever asked your for disc two which I believe has the MCE customizations. I believe Tablet Edition works the same way.

Somewhat, but in the main sense, they are identical. MCE2005 can work on a domain, if you join the domain during setup.....or you can do some hacks/tweaks later to enable it.

But it's not supported, like it is in Pro. So the statement "it's pro with a few extra services" isn't quite true like it was with the original MCE. Subtle differences, but they are there.
