Does Win 7 sometimes fail to restart for some people?

It just hangs on the Shutting Down screen sometimes (but the progress ring keeps going). Usually when it's initiated by an application that just made changes.

:confused: You asked if Win 7 fails to restart for some people, some person replied "no".. Mine also has never failed to restart or shutdown. Probably some program you installed hanging on shutdown. Or you could try standard trouble shooting stuff - pull unnecessary hardware, disable unnecessary programs, check ram, update drivers and bios, etc.
 
I just had that happen during shutdowns and it turned out to be that there were bad sectors in the hard drive. I had to use WHS to restore to a previous date.
