Does this past application look like it was ok?

My 3600x idled fairly warm, around 45C. Since the case I'm using is designed for watercooling I just decided to lean into it and got a Corsair H150i. Planning on mounting it on the top as an exhaust. Will put probably 3 side intake and 2 or 3 bottom intake fans to complement.

Too much CPU goo and unevenly applied.

That one heatpipe is hardly doing anything.

You don't want a lot of goo on a direct touch pipe. Also you may want to check flatness against that CPU to see if it might need some lapping.
 
Thanks, I'll remember that for the future but I'm not going to be using this HSF because it's too tall--can't fit the side panel on.
 
With exposed heatpipe coolers, its a good idea to spread some grease and fill the gaps.
