Does Chrome still have a built in ability to track users?

I remember when it first came out, there were some concerns that google had the potential ability to track anyone's usage on chrome. Has this been addressed? I'm not talking about their EULA, IIRC it was something that was built into the browser directly but google claimed they wouldn't collect information but it technically could
 
Yes, it does and probably always will.

You could use other builds such as Srware Iron or simply Chromium which is what Chrome is built upon.
 
Chrome isn't the only piece of software that does this sort of crap. Read the EULA when you're installing Microsoft Live Messenger - there is some scary crap in there.

That is a feature. And it only does it with you approval.
