Now, I usually just game when I have nothing better to do.

Christmas break = tons of gaming. (aka I can beat UT: GoTY bots on Godlike now)

soon as i got a job, realized it takes up way too much time, would rather better myself, my body and my health.

Nope, I control my gaming pretty well. I do an hour or two here and there through the week when I have time and a few hours on the weekend when I'd otherwise be bored. I still get work done, spend time with my family and enjoy other hobbies... ;)

It's just a game.
You have to be responible and limit yourself
If you don't you'll end up a fat lazy no lifer like the fat ass in that South Park WoW bit
ewww

When I was younger, I used to play games for several hours at a time. Nowadays, I feel a strong urge to get up and do something else after a few rounds when I actually have time to play.

I dont have time anymore - I picked up a cheapo laptop (not that cheap, mind you) so I couldnt imagine running any new games. Sold my desktop for it : \

Not really, if I get really hooked into a game where I'm playing a few hours a day, I always have a backlash where I will hardly play at all for a while.

Exactly the same with me. Plus, there haven't been many games in the past year or so that have really impressed me.

i thought that the results of the poll would be different...i guess not though

My gaming is directly proportionate to my free time. I never let gaming make me late for work or take me away from my fiancee if she wants to spend time with me, but the rest of my time is usually spent on the big 3 (Gaming, browsing, and porning).

Gaming used to take up too much time when I played WoW. That was the first game since 007 for the N64 in which I knew I was spending too much time gaming. Even then, I was still able to keep my life afloat along with getting good grades but I would definitely stay up way to late when the roomates and I would jump on WoW. That is ultimatly what led me to quit. I just wasn't getting enough sleep. Still, it was fun.

I'm going to go with no on this one. 5-6 years ago I'd say yes, maybe even as recently as 2 years ago with Star Wars Galaxies when I had about 10 friends from real life who all played with me. After that game took a leap into the shitter I stopped playing games by and large.

I've got a stack of games 3 years deep I haven't touched for PS2, then last year I got a 360 which only gets use about 1-3 times a week unless I'm lucky, and then it's not very often.

Gaming is something I enjoy, but not something that rules my life, and it only takes up the time I allow it to...

Edit: Luckily enough, on slow times at my job, I can whip out my DS, and FFIII lends itself very nicely to that type of sporadic useage, much like this forum... ;)

Life is all about balance. I think it makes gaming more enjoyable when you can take a step back and do other things then come back to gaming. I am a gamer for life no doubt about it, but I also find time to have a gf and be a first team all-state basketball player. Balance is the key!!!!!

I don't really enjoy much else other than gaming, I like to watch 1-2 tv episodes a week and some movies, but I spend a lot of time gaming and I specifically make a lot of time for computer use in general.

I never let it interfere with my life in that it never makes me late for work, or miss other appointments, but it plays a large part in my life still. Recently I've been gaming less and spending more time browsing/chatting, I think thats largely to do with how stagnent the game market for the PC is at the moment.

Each to his own is what I say, if you're happy gaming then go for it!

when i played WoW it definilty took up way too much time, but now that i've quit its a lot better but i still have to dedicate some time each week to play otherwise i go crazy. its just how i relax

Something between

1; Real job

2; Being 22

3; Having a girlfriend

4; Hobbies such as; working out, photography, paintball, guns, clubbing, etc

5; Finding every single PC game to be a pile of dung lately

= 2-3hours a week of gaming, not bad, IMO. I spend far more time watching educational films.

I wish I had more time to game.. well, only when I have a good game I can really get into.. I obsess a little.. my wife is finally used to it.. but she used to get a little pissed that I would have like all day gaming sessions. lol.. I used the argument, "hey, at least I am home, not partying with the guys or anything and can duck out of here at any time to help you with anything at the house or whatever..". I could be up to much worse. ;)

I really don't game all that much anymore, I only really play games that are really good anymore.

sometimes it does

I don't watch TV tho and as some might plop down and watch their evening sitcoms ..I plop down and do some CS:S

I game hard and I study hard. I need my computer and consoles but I also need my A's

Same here. Im in college and I do spend alot of my weekends playing games with some of my friends. I also know when to stop or say hey I need to go and study. When I get a job thats not a summer only job im sure this is going to change but until then let the good times roll:)

Voted No, real vote would be "Life takes up too much of my gaming time". Lucky if I get an hour every couple of days anymore.

I think it used to, but I took a huge cut out of my gaming time in the recent years and have just been doing other things, mainly school and trying to get those good grades, especially during junior year of HS last year. Now with a job as well, I don't think I get to game as much as I would like to. So no, it doesn't take up too much of my time at all. But there are some times on the weekends...oh boy ;)
