Do OEM or commerical drives with more platters make more noise?

I have some HGST 6TB Helium drives which were silent then I loaded them up with data they make thumping sounds every 3 seconds and I have them in a slient case I even transfered 1 TB of Steam games from one drive to the other and I think the other drive is doing the same thing.

I don't know about every 3 seconds, but I have several HGST and Toshiba drives that can be pretty noisy. When I move projects around on the three 5tb toshiba drives I have in my workstation it basically sounds like the hard drives from my old 486.
