do lite-on combo drives work well in Macs?

newegg has the Lite-on dvd/cdrw combo drive listed in their mac hardware section (along with a bunch of other DVD and CD-RW drives), but nowhere in the specs can I find support for the Macs listed...does anyone have experience with these drives in the G4 grey & whites?

as long as its a normal IDE device it should work fine, in a general manner. (reading CD's etc)

If you want to use it with say the built in iTunes burner, Finder burning, etc, you have to check it's compatibility.
