I just saw the latest update, and it looks and sounds phenomenal. Thrilled they were able to go with a full orchestra, always a nice treat in these kinds of games. And the update to the voice overs was interesting too. It looks like they hired some voice over studio to have that work done, did not even know that was a thing but I guess it makes sense for a company to specialize in voice overs to give those kinds of actors more consistent work and to streamline the process for smaller game studios of getting access to voice over talent. I wonder how much that cost?

As of right now, this is my most anticipated game of the year.

That Russian guy died last year or the year before which basically put a road block on their music score.

I like how this game makes use of elevation from a top down perspective the graphics look good turned down even to clean up some of the textures if you want.

I've been waiting for this but haven't followed it closely and haven't touched the beta. If I play through Act one now will that save be viable for the release? Or do they recommend starting a new game?

Forgive me or being totally ignorant, but is OS2 a direct sequel to OS1?

They're adding voices, races and whatnot so I'd start over.
The only official words I know is that the saves won't be compatible after any major updates, and it sounds quite major to me.

I still want to know how much all that voice work cost. They mentioned using 4 studios, and those studios in the video looked like they had special capture for not just voices but positioning. Is that kind of add on reasonable cost for a game studio? I thought you needed to be a much bigger heavy weight to cover those kinds of costs. Maybe not?

    Sept. 14th 2017 a Thursday

Next week this badboy is released the entire version
This game will sure be to impress I'm all set because I bought the Dell 24" Gsync monitor simply because it looked better framed at a smaller sizer for a point and click overhead game. I'm even going to use a Razer Deathadder for this game due to the clicks it has even though I heard a Logitech Chaos Spectrum has the best clicks.

They can't flip the switch on Steam to release the game because their server that is authorized to do so is dead after a major power outage in the city. Release might be delayed?

WOW I didn't think the video was serious at first knowing how Swen is =D
A few thousand people are playing though so I don't think it will be a problem.

My first ~40 hrs of the first game was on a crappy 300 buck laptop. The gameplay made it worth the choppiness

Sucks I'll be working late today, means I'll have to stay up until 5 am to give it a proper play.

Next week I'll be able to play this game I like how hardly anyone finished the 1st game LOL for I think I checked achievements and it was like 6.6 percent actually finished the game. My only complaint about DOS 2 is they went overboard in the graphics department so I turned them down to Medium.

That is kind of odd. I enjoyed the first game enough to back this one soon as I could. However I also didn't finish it. I was on the second to last map before the end and just never went back to it for some reason.

The biggest difference is the combat style. Divinity:OS is turn-based with action points. KotOR and DA are real-time with pause. What they have in common is that they're heavy on dialogue and the RPG aspects. I was one of the people who were disappointed that Divinity:OS went with turn-based with actions points... that is, until i played it. I think i've been converted. I've since tried to play a couple games which are Real time with pause and it's just too much to micromanage all the time. I now much prefer Divinity's combat.

I agree with you man. As much as I used to love games like Baldur's Gate when I was younger -- nowadays they are just a pain in my ass for me to play. I tried really hard and couldn't get into Pillars of Eternity or Tyranny. I felt like combat was the only "interesting" part of the game - and it was just as you said, a micromanagement fuck fest and the rest of the game was meh to me. Divinity plays very differently.

Is there a list of classes? I didn't find much on their site. Are you forced to have a party or can you play with a single character? Is the dialogue overwhelming or can it mostly be ignored?

Indeed. I'm happy to see that and I, too, can't believe PUBG is that popular. We'll see how long that lasts.

I'm doing a classic playthrough with a rogue elf origin character and its handing my ass to me, I might need to rethink my build.
