I got home and one of my screens (I have 3 in eyefinity) had tons of vertical colored lines going through it.

Initially I thought it would be my video cards but two things disprove that. 1) The two other displays in mirror mode look fine. 2) There are still vertical lines after turning it off and back on, and then disconnecting the dvi plug.

So, is it my monitor that is damaged or what? On the dell screen when it's just the power plug I see them but not everywhere like that initial issue.

Just my opinion without asking for further information:

Happens sometimes. Defect in the solder. Reacts to heat. Reflowing the solder will fix it.

Or it could be a loose or oxidized cable connection on the inside.

First disassemble the monitor, then unplug and tightly replug all of the accessible cables to see if it makes a difference. Unplugging + replugging should rub off any copper oxidation and improve the contact. You may have to do it a couple of times to scrape away enough of the oxidation.

Try not to touch any components on the power board in case something is holding a charge.

Keep en eye out for any crimped or frayed cables while you're in there.
