A buddy of mine had a PC that the RAM died on. It's at my house now and I am in the process of reformatting, replacing RAM, etc. (SDRAM)
Anyways, his other computer decided that it too was going to die on him.
Today he went to boot it up. It gave him the Disk Check screen as if the power was turned off incorrectly. He hit 'ok' and continued the check. He realized then that it said "Deleting files on C:\" and then gave a status bar with the files being deleted.
He immediately powered off. When he booted back up, he skipped the check and tried to boot normally. When he tried to log on Windows gave him and error message and code. Something along the lines of "A problem occurred that is preventing Window's from verifying the license information" Error Code: 0X8007007E
Any idea what in the fuck just happened to his PC?
