Digi Cam Poll: What Digital Camera do you use?

Can we get some sample pics of that sigma 70-200mm? I'd love to see some action shots specifically.

Up until now I've been shooting with a 400D using primarily a 17-85 f/4-5.6 IS and a Sigma 10-20. Last month I bought my first L: the 16-35 f/2.8, and my new 5DmkII should be in tomorrow, with the 24-105. Now I just need to dump the old body and it's incompatible lenses.

My Creative Tools when I am bored from work and life in general...

I just purchased a Canon T1i with 18-55 kit. Just got into photography and also wanted to try the HD video on this camera too. Set up a basic photo studio setup with continous lighting and muslin backdrops too. Going to buy a Canon EF 85mm 1.8 lens when I can scrap together $379. Heard it's a great lens for portraits and depth of field shots.

I just got a Canon XSi with the kit lens. I'm just getting into photography and I'm sure I'll want a better lens in the future.

Had the D200, decided it was too much, sold it.

Missed it, bought another D200.. again, too much camera for me. Sold it again.

Ended up with the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF1. Definitely overrated for sure, but micro four thirds and the size really is amazing. I can see why this is OOS or inflated in price just about everywhere.

Canon Powershot G11. Fantastic prosumer camera if DSLR isn't necessary.

I shoot the following equipment.

Canon Digital Rebel XT
Canon 50mm F1.8 MKII
Canon 18-55 Kit Lens
Canon 70-200mm F4.0 L
Sigma 24-135mm 1:2 Macro
Sigma 10-20mm F4.5 Wideangle
Canon 580EXII Flash

well i just bought a Nikon D5000 to take on my up comming trip to New Delhi and Shanghai this month.

I should have it later this week and will be learning how how to take some real pictures :D

I've had a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi for about 1.5 years. I just started getting serious with photography and I am already looking for another camera to replace this. I have been looking at the 7D's.

Currently I shoot with the following gear:

Cameras/Bodies:

Compacts:

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX35
Canon SX20 IS
Canon G10
Canon G11

D/SLRs:

Canon EOS 10
Canon EOS 10D
Canon EOS 40D
Canon EOS 7D
Canon EOS 1D-Mk2

Lenses:

Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 USM IS
Canon 17-40mm f/4.0 USM L
Canon 24-105mm f/4.0 USM L IS
Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF)
Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM
Canon 50mm f/2.5 Compact Macro
Canon 50mm f/1.2 USM L
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 USM L IS
Canon 300mm f/4.0 USM L IS

I bought the Tamron 28-75 because I needed a full-frame walk-around f/2.8 lens and I was unable to find a Canon 24-70mm USM L that wasn't decentered (I tried multiple copies from various sources). I have to say it is an amazing piece of glass even if the auto-focus is far slower than I would like.

I keep the 50mm f/1.4 because it is both lighter than the 50mm f/1.2 USM L and also due to its dreamy wide-open halation effect.

On top of all of this I have various speedlites and a full array of Elinchrom studio flash gear.

And yeah, I can post pictures if needed ;)

You ever try this lens with an infrared filter for portraits? Seems like it'd be a good match :)

Which one? ;)

I haven't, with either, as it happens!

In fact I haven't done anything with infrared with digital at all! And I didn't have the 50mm f/1.4 (I'm assuming that's the lens you're referring to due to the interesting halo-possibilities it offers) when I was playing with infrared film.

Fascinating idea though ... especially for some of my erotic work ... time to order a 58-72mm step-up ring and a 72mm infrared filter I guess! :)

Thanks for the idea!

I love spending other peoples' money ;)

But yeah, IR photography is seriously fun, right now I'm debating the idea of either picking up a 77mm Hoya R72 filter for my 17-55; or a used, fully IR-converted, Rebel XS body. The cost is surprisingly close.

I just bought a Canon Rebel XSi with the Kit Lens 18-55mm. From what I've seen online so far, I can get some really good shots from this lens, so I will stick to it until my wallet fattens and my ability grows.

Just stepping my toes in on the DSLR market.

Just got a used Canon Rebel XTi for Christmas. Still rocking the kit lens, but it's all good. Saving up for a 50mm 1.4 Prime or a 70-300 Telephoto.

I actually just purchased both the 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS and the 50mm f/1.4 Prime last week.

I also have an XTi and have used the kit lens for ~2 years. Those are both good lenses from what I have seen so far from them.

The 50mm prime is just an amazing fast lens and it's my first dive into prime lenses.

Awesome, that's good to hear... I have a specific purpose for each lens, so I'm going to need to hurry and get them. The 50mm f/1.4 is for some concert photography, the Telephoto is for the Indianapolis MotoGP race coming up. I'm pretty excited to expand the lens collection as well, they seem like good lenses to start one with.

I am also going to INDLPS for the Indy 500 and perhaps the MotoGP....don't know yet. I'll be using the new glass there too :)

Canon A590 IS. :)

Takes great pics and clear video. Want to upgrade though as video doesn't have a 16:9 mode. :(

Over all a great camera with tons of fancy features that I have no clue about. :)

Picked up a Canon S90 here in Japan for $200.

Still trying to figure out how to take decent shots -- cherry blossom season incoming!
