Digi Cam Poll: What Digital Camera do you use?

Rebel XSI. 99% 18-55 IS kit lens, 1% 50mm 1.8 (too zoomed for my use)

just got a Canon S90, and i get the impression that i'll end up using the XSI far less (s90 is less of a hassle, and can still shoot at ISO1600 cleanly, which is 90% of what i do)

90% of my photography is available and low light, in abandoned places, and i got tired of lugging a tripod around years ago.

(ideally, i'd love a modern sensor that can shoot 6400 cleanly, paired with a fast lens and IS/VR, but i can wait a few years for technology to reach that)

Canon PowerShot Pro1. I've pretty much outgrown it at this point, but I don't have the cash to replace it with a true DSLR.

Just got a Pentax K-x, 55-300, 105mm f/2.8, 50mm/f1.4 , 35mm f/1.9, 100mm f/4 macro. Love it..

Current status of my gear:

I've added a:
Nikon 50/1.8 AI-S (series e)
Nikon 75-150/3.5 ai-s (series e)
Bower (samyang) 85/1.4 (AI-S)

I LOVE the Bower and Nikon 50/1.8. Fast glass is so fun, so beatuiful..

I'm considering getting a Nikon 35mm f/1.4 AI-S right now... fun :D

I don't really care for the Nikon 75-150. I want to like that focal range, but on crop I think it's just too much for what I shoot. (Yeah...I love to dream about the 105 and 135mm 2.0 DC, but, just too telephoto imo)

I don't really care for the 18-105 much either. It's just too bland. I'm keeping it for the wide angle, but once I get a Tokina 11-16/2.8, I think I'm going to dump it. I kind of want something between the 11-16 and 35mm, but for now I'm saying to myself: "screw it".

Why all the old AI-S and series e glass?

If you are considering a 35mm, I think the new 35mm f/1.8 G D will absolutely kill that AI-S, provided you don't shoot full frame, or absolutely NEED the f/1.4. It's fairly affordable too.

I have a 50mm f/1.4D and I love it. It's by far my highest quality lens. I use my fiance's 35mm f/1.8 G from time to time, and it produces almost as good results as the 50mm f/1.4 D, but with a focal lenght that is much more useful for crop sensors.

I shoot with a 5d MK 2 with 24-105L and a 70-200mm tamron. i want a 50mm f1.4 real bad.... i just love the depth of field.

i dont really deserve this camera though, i havent gone shooting at all with this thing. Theres a certain stigma attached with carrying so much money around with you, compared to my 40D.

we use a Cannon PowerShot SD1100 IS. A couple years old now but still does the trick for the most part as simple point and shoot. A DSLR is next!

At the moment some old fujifilm 9mp 50mm something. Or an Pannasonic HDC 300k... Getting a 7d soon! Still dont know which lens to pick up however...

Sold off my XSI a month ago and two weeks ago picked up a 7D as it's replacement.

I just picked up a S95.... I love it, it works well with the rest of my gear.

The rest of my gear
5D Mark II
5D
35L f/1.4
85L f/1.2
135L f/2
24-70L f/2.8
24-105L f/4
70-200L f/2.8 IS
17-40L f/4

and about to pick up a 24mm TSE and 8-15L fisheye (when it comes in Jan).

Just bought the wife the Nikon D5000 pack from Costco. She's been wanting one for a while. She's looking to take some classes, so I figured she should have a decent camera to start with.

Can someone point me in the right direction for a discussion on Fuji S3 Pro camera? I just bought on a used one w/ a Nikon 18-135 DX len so i will be reading up on the manual to get the layout of it. But i would like to get some insight from users who have used it or the s2 pro. I can always sell the body, keep the len and get a Nikon dslr if too complicated to use or if theres something wrong with it.

There wouldn't be anything inherently wrong with the S3. It was a good camera back in 2004/2005. It won't match the speed, image quality, and resolution of the current cameras D3100, D90, D7k. The newer cameras will have more AF points, higher resolution, better ISO quality above base, faster shot to shot times, faster AF, more in camera options, more refined ergonomics.

Just did a quick search of "S3 pro vs d90" and came across this: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1020&message=30390612&changemode=1

Here are some S3 pro reviews:

Steve's Digicams

Sony DSC-P32 - 3.2MP, No optical zoom, small sensor, MemoryStick sucks, had to fix a sticky lens cover. This was my eBay camera. The Nikons replaced it. I'm giving it to my 3yr old daughter.
Samsung Digimax D53 - Walmart special bought after a meth-head stole my Olympus pocket camera in 2006 and then died trying to steal copper wire from a live HV transformer. Used mostly for video function.
Olympus C-765 - bought working with broken LCD. Using viewfinder for everything is a pain. It will sit and wait. Only 4MP anyway.
Canon Digital Elph SD600 - Frankenstein'd two broken ones together.
Nikon Coolpix 5700 - Bought a total of seven broken, fixed five. I may get more and go for a fleet rig like they used for the stop-motion rotate effect in The Matrix. 2560x1920 frame will do.

Canon Rebel XTi - only camera I haven't repaired or modified. I don't use it. My wife does.

Old Pentax glass is very nice.. and a lot cheaper than buying new Pentax glass.

The lenses I currently use on my K10D are:

Samsung D-Xenon 18-55 3.5-5.6 (use this for general shooting and the wifey doesn't like manual focus lenses)
Takumar-F Zoom 28-80 3.5-4.5(use this with my vintage Kenko 180 AUX lens - works great for being able to get any range of full circular to full frame pics)
Spiratone 12mm 5.6-16 fisheye (another great vinatge piece of glass)
SMC Pentax A 50/1.7 (got his with a Super Program at a thrift store for $15) :)
Takumar 135/2.5
Takumar A Zoom 70-200 4.0
Vivitar 28/2.5
Vivitar macro zoom 28-210 3.5-5.6
Albinar ADG 28mm 2.8 macro. This is the A version of the lense that has a stupid extra useless pin that gets stuck on the newer cameras preventing it from mounting. I removed that stupid extra pin and it works great.

Wow - you certainly have the 50mm range covered! ;)

Is that a full-frame camera? It makes me a little sad every time I use my 50mm 1.4 on crop frame.

@madFive - Nope,the K-x is an APS-C camera,with a 1.5x crop factor. Still, those f/1.4 lenses let in a huuuge amount of light.
@cyclone3d - have you browsed the forums at www.pentaxforums.com? Loads of good info there. You have some nice lenses.

Have you seen the Pentax K-5? Clean ISO 12800, in body stabilization for all Pentax lenses. Great camera.

Finally retired my trusty Canon PowerShot A80 and upgraded to the new S95. Loving it. A80, you served me well. You were a damn good camera. I will miss you... *sniff*

Really have my eyes set on the D700 (or D800), maybe the Nikon AF 35mm's, Sigma 50/1.4, Nikon 85/1.4D or Sigma 85/1.4. But this will cost big money and will take a lot of time. I'm pretty content with my current set up. Much better than previously.

I just recently "downgraded" from my Pentax DSLR to an Olympus E-PL2. I love having an interchangeable lens camera that fits in my pocket.

Just recently went from a D200 to a D90. Really happy that I switched. Missing the command buttons up top has been an adjustment, but the improved ISO performance has been well worth it.

Lenses and shitz:

Nikon 18-70mm (D70 kit lens)
Nikon 50mm f/1.8
Nikon 70-300 VR
SB-600

I got a Canon T2i for Christmas, and I love it. Came with EFS 55-250 and EFS 18-55 lenses. I get some fun moon shots with the 55-250, but I really wish I could get s'mo zoom on that giant cheeseball in the sky.

Actually I have seen great pictures from a iphone 3 and 4 that has better images than what some people produce with a DSLR or a P&S.....

Watch this video....

http://fstoppers.com/iphone

And look at the sample...

I think it is capable, depends on the user/artist/person behind the phone/camera...
