I identify as an Apache attack helicopter. If I don't have the option to play as one in the game, it's discriminating against me.

Jesus, it's not like they put some neon-haired, genderfluid, trans, autistic survivor of racist assault... it's just a woman. And 95% of people don't give a shit and aren't as triggered as you. So I'm not sure what "I identify as..." has anything to do with this.

On another note, this whole thing is super weird to me. There was a whole campaign mission in BF1 where you play as a woman. An Arab woman, iirc. I don't remember there being a mini shitstorm over it back then. Part of me thinks that the 5% of people who don't like EA's decision are purposefully being amplified by EA just to promote the game. Actually, that's probably exactly what's happening.

I hate the whole SJW push as much as the next guy but I'm not really seeing a problem with this one. I've been playing female protagonists since the Resident Evil and Parasite Eve games of the mid 90's and never minded it and Mass Effect's FemShep is one of the greatest protagonists in gaming history. As long as the game's good and the character is good it doesn't matter to me.

Fuck Dice and their SHIT games....It sucks cause they used to be my favorite devs. UNLESS a true successor to BF2142 or BF4 or BC2 comes out im am done with them...And at one time i bought and spent money on any BF game they made.

Love me some 2142. Such a well balanced game. I watched the trailer for V and it was just bad. Looked fan made almost.

Mother fucking THIS! :)

I think the Internet has made us lose our collective minds (at least those who spend entirely too much time on social media). Whatever the fuck happened to nuanced discussion/opinion? Seems like both sides are just yelling NO U! Ad Nauseum while the rest of us are just left scratching our heads.

And yet it clearly matters to the sjw/devs who have to be "inclusive" in every game, even if it makes no sense given the time/world the game is set in. To the point that they put a one armed red head gal with celtic war paint and a cricket bat in a ww2 michael bay style game right at the start. Why do they have to cater to women who apparently can't roleplay in ww2 as a man? You or I have no problem playing a woman character in various games, why should they have a problem playing a man in ww2? I guess Dice just had to out do Activision with its black female nazis in CoD WW2 from last year.

"FemShep is one of the greatest protagonists in gaming history."

For the waddle?

Well like I said, they've had female protagonists in games since the early 90's. Not sure why it's a problem all of a sudden. This isn't like forcing a fat Asian chick or a purple haired feminist down our throats in the newest Star Wars film. This is a female character not unlike any of the others we've had in games for a couple of decades now.

Waddle? I assume you're talking about Mass Effect Andromeda. That would be Ryder, not Shepard. And both male and female Ryders would be a perfect example of SJW. Milk toast, feminine male that's as threatening and masculine and a Summers Eve commercial and a mousy, semi-attractive emo chick that looks like the typical run of the mill college hipster running around looking for something new to be offended about.

Wait? Women gave up more in WWII?

It's easy to trivialize their sacrifice, especially the German women, because we won.

Few years of gang rapes from the allies and Russians would quantify what I describe, as a pretty paramount sacrifice. A lot probably wished they were dead.

1. Its a problem because they're forcing women into a role they weren't in during that conflict, so yes it is much like forcing a purple hair type.

2. Waddle, run animation. Whatever. FemShep, from ME3:

Honestly I've got a bigger problem with the damn katana wielding para, the stupid embroidered trench-coats, and all the damn facepaint. Was there some braveheart themed children's fair before the battle?

And in BF1 there were playable Russian female snipers. Then we have Mirror's Edge, Tomb Raider, Mass Effect, the list is endless. It literally has nothing to do with women. Playable female characters were never the issue.

Their unfitting portrayal and cartoon appearance in BF5 is what people are upset about. The last major AAA franchise has fallen for the kiddie bullshit look, all to bolster their micro-transaction model. And it seems half the potential Battlefield player base supports this business model and look.

We haven't seen a game yet, only a bad kitchen sink trailer.

EA/DICE is raising the profit ceiling for the game with their design choices, nothing more. And they're playing outrage culture like a fiddle.

I highly doubt including a female character in a game is going to incentive more women/girls to want to play, let alone in the first place, Ijs
It won't, but it will incentify me to get the game, because I find that I prefer to look at a woman over a man in the 10-20 hours while playing a game

Seems that they are trying to get more publicity for a franchise series that has been close to the event horizon of the commode. This type of sealioning by DICE does nothing to improve diversity in gaming.
Sealioning! I haven't seen that term used appropriately in a long time. Kudos to you, xir.

This. I'm really sick and fucking tired of the strawmanning.

The only positive thing I an think about the female characters is the potential for custom skin packs.

People already bitch about the difference in appearance between women and men in games. Women armor covers... the good bit. Male armor covers everything. I say just go for the "Keep It Simple, Stupid" viewpoint on that. Standard skins with various looks. Form fitting, but covers stuff. I'm there to shoot shit and have fun, not look at boobies. There are many other games that do that. In a "serious" FPS like this, I'll take the more serious conservative look than a sexy hot babe with bouncy titties.

Battlefield 6: The Seduction of Chelea Manning

I do wonder what games people play in BF (or CoD or others). Are they more interested in the backstory and history of their character? Or are they into playing the game? I really don't think it affects game play, and if it's first person view, does it really matter? Sure, you get a different skin. You can play as a woman. That's fine with me. Let's go shoot shit. I wouldn't care if it was some neo-haired, genderfluid, trans, autistic survivor of racist assault. Call of Duty is a decent game, too.... :D (sounds more like Borderlands, though).

If there HAS to be a politically correct female character or a few in a WW2 war game, at least we have to have as much politically incorrect fun with it as possible.

I was trying to find a SFW pic for Witcher 3 boobie jiggle physics, but that's not happening. :D

Although, putting women in the game brings new meaning to
