Guest-728: when you want to play with a friend who is much lower level than you, are you stuck playing the furthest ACT or DIFFICULTY they have achieved?
JasonBender: They can jump in to your game at a higher level (up to the highest difficulty they've achieved), even though they might miss story points. If the lower level player creates the game you will be limited to their story progress. You're not limited by ACT, but you are limited by DIFFICULTY.
So I can join higher difficulty games.. so rushing is still possible in D3?

Nevermind answered my own question:D

Read a bit later:

Guest-503: Is "rushing" a character possible? Or are there some kind of restrictions that keep a player from getting to Nightmare/**bleep**/Inferno in a significantly shorter time period than usual.
JayWilson: A higher level character can help you jump past content within a difficulty, but you get greatly diminished XP, so you really need to go through legitimately. We have hard level requirements for difficulty levels, though, so no shortcuts there.

When was your first death in D2?

Mine was normal mode act 2 as a Barb. For my first time through I didnt get how painful poison could be while being swarmed with skeles. At that point I wasnt pumping anything into vit or using any resist gear (andy posed some challenge, but not enough to warrant poison resist). IMO act 2 was a really big jump of difficulty from act 1. I had to start thinking about resist and be faster with my TP drops

I think I was in middle school when I played it? I'm a much more refined gamer since, but it's still going to be hard to resist jumping in the center of battle to drop AoE abilities. 6 days until my +gold stacking, all-bang-no-defense glass cannon Wizard goes live.

They probably would have been better off just not saying anything about that. Yikes.

LOL this guy says that you should invest the 60$ on a date or something else instead of D3. Normally I don't read trash like this but this article read like something from The Onion.

Or don't be a brokeass and do both. Seriously, I don't care if you're James Bond, who the hell goes on a date every night and needs to make that distinction?

And even as someone who lives in San Francisco, the Chronicle and their web portal, SF Gate, are trash. Only good for some basic level of keeping up whats going on in the area, not any kind of thoughtful articles or true investigation.

The cinematics have started leaking. MASSIVE MASSIVE story spoilers out in the wild. Be careful if you're trying to avoid spoilers.

From what I've read in these spoilers, I think this is gonna be the best Diablo story wise so far. One of the major events is predictable but I love the motives behind it.

I am excite!

I won't even look at the talent trees*... if the only thing that happens when you level is unlocking new skills/runes, i want that to be as fresh and exciting as possible.

edit: *skill calculators lol, some habits die hard I guess.

By the way, did anyone else like how in the beta there were a lot of smaller instances vs a couple that were huge? I know i did! No doubt there will be larger ones too, but I am a fan of the variety.

I only got a chance to play through the beta once, so I don't remember which one jar of souls is... however, i can't even imagine the game on inferno at all lol

I am so fuckin excited now... these 6 days can't go quick enough.

Jar of souls is another example of how they'll randomize the game with events.

***SPOILER***

***SPOILER***

Last chance.....

Jar of souls is where you go into a room with a glowing jar sitting in the middle of it.

Of course, you click on it and the jar starts glowing more. You've awakened the souls in the room and they're angry. The doors leading into the room all seal you in and skeletons & ghosts start spawning.

You have to survive 60 seconds with increasingly powerful undead spawning repeatedly in the room. Once you do, the jar spits out some pretty good loot.

Yup! I'm just so damn happy that there is a mode designed to be a challenge for quite some time...no more hitting 80ish and having a sorc teleport to Baal's room in hell, open a TP then just mow down the room over and over and over.

That looks like a lot of fun. I foresee many many many wipes in later difficulties =P

Me too. I think they put a big emphasis on actually making compelling gameplay this time around. In D2, sure you might die every now and again, but typically that resulted always from the same thing: you got too close to some mobs which quickly kicked the shit out of you. now, you have the ability to use / select your moves correctly / incorrectly and that will determine the outcome of your fights.

It's amazing to see that people are still craving the skill trees considering how rigid they are and how fun this new system can/will be. All it takes is just an hour or so to see how much better this is.

it shines a lot more in later levels. As you have more skills and runes decisions have to be made hard decisions too

I hope so, this system looks like crap.
