Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

The buff bar makes me laugh. All they have to do is implement Turbohud.

Cut the dude that makes it a check and give him credits somehow. Easy fix.
 
Game is fine, it's just that you can't treat it like some MLG competition. It's fun to screw around with occasionally by trying out the different set bonuses and builds.

Any game with 'infinitely scaling' content is going to run into the exact same issue. Eventually the balance breaks down and one thing becomes mathematically superior to everything else. I'm actually glad they have enough sense to not add something past T6 (it's just more stat inflation, and would eliminate more builds) I don't agree with the addition of Ancient legendaries either. It's just more stat inflation that doesn't actually change the way the game is played (no new affixes, just bigger numbers).

The real issue is the lack of variance in the endgame. Every rift is the same, the enemies themselves are nothing but background noise. PoE has a much more interesting endgame system in place with map affixes that force you to adapt your build or trade / reroll the map / grab friends with alternative skills.
 
Meh, this game is all about Greater Rifts now. T6 is just such a waste of time since the density is trash and GR40's can be cleared in 2-4 minutes with decent groups.

Farm for decades to be able to find shit to trade on the forums or spam the shit out of the chat system like I have nothing better to do in order to find a small portion of the gear that I actually want. PoE's drop system is as bad as D3 with the AH but without the ease of trading of the AH.

Exactly. They went too overboard with the RNG on drops. It's absolutely rediculous trying to find gear. Maybe once they implement a real trading system I'll give it another go.

Even without desync, I know what is waiting for me once I hit merciless... not the gear i want lol
 
Only thing I hate is key farming. But hopefully that's being addressed soon.

In other news, love the new Tal's set and the seasonal bracers. A lot more dynamic and less strain on my hands than N6. Cleared 40 solo today with my crap gear so now begins the hunt for ancient gear! :)
 
I think I burned myself out on this, again. I got my DH to the point everything was ancient except my amulet. The only thing I could maybe have swapped out was a perfectly rolled ancient Krider and the exact same amulet in an ancient version. Odds of that and play time needed don't even sound like something I want to invest in. Like literally...almost everything has damn near perfect rolls. I think the highest grift I finished was a 51 and, to be completely honest, I don't wanna do anymore grifts. They're boring.

Looking over my gear again, yeah there is one obvious flaw on the chest piece, and a few others, but eh....say I miraculously find the exact same thing with one tweak....its not even gonna make that big of a difference for all the time invested.

yeah pretty good setup.

you are missing like 6ish crit in the rings, gloves, bracers, and Quiver. Your gloves could use IAS or resource cost reduction...and that's about it. The only real bang you can get is a HellFire Amulet with a 10 Crit, Socket, Primary, 100 Damage and a usable skill.

your luck must have been pretty spot on as you are only Paragon 330 and your gear is much better then mine at 550ish.
 
I haven't found any usable crap in the past 4 or 5 days for my DH.
39 is the highest grift I finished in time, 12 minutes I think, and 40 took me 19 minutes.

Yeah, I got lucky as hell. That's just it though, once I get basically there , I don't wanna invest the time to finish the rest because of the diminishing returns for doing something where I am basically watching a movie on my other monitor the whole time.

I wish it wasn't like that and it is frustrating because Diablo 1 was the first game I ever played. :mad::mad::mad:

I hear ya man. Im para 400 and have yet to see a ram gift fall. If it weren't for clan members donating their extra drops to me I wouldn't be able to do anything at high levels. (I'm sure I'm sounding like a broken record by now as I have bitched about this for some time.)

Currently trying to gear a WD to reach Grift 40 for the achievement and so far I have spent 9200 shards trying to get the zun set pants. I have gotten every other pant at least 3 times, zun not once. I tried gambling helms, the only ones I ever get are the set jerams mask and broken crown, both of which are useless.

The RNG system is completely busted and seems in a locked infinite loop of certain items.
 
I'd love to get a consistent group to run speed 30s/40s. Ideally sub 4 minutes to maximize shard/legs/exp per run. If you guys want to setup a time to get people and bust these out I'd gladly help schedule and provide voice comm for fun if desired.
 
I would love to friend some of you guys for some group grifts. Prefer doing 40s though. Not sure why. Seems like I get better drops when I push higher tiers, could be wrong though.

I've seen quite a few gifts but from about para 350 to 500 or so I didn't see one. With the way that paragon levels scale thats a long time.

Seriously, if I combine my rolands and akkans gear I wouldn't have a full ancient setup. My ancient F+R didn't roll anywhere near that well either and I had been saving those since long before the stat change.

Seasonal? Most of HOCP clan is on seasonal for now. Next season I think we'll have a bigger pool of NS runners. Myself being one of them most likely.
 
I always get at least 2 or 3 gifts to drop right at the start of seasons, seriously it's like the first thing that drops when I hit 70 and do a greater rift.
 
I don't know how this compares to other people here, but I managed to get on the solo crusader leaderboards even if it was only ranked 954 at the time. I soloed GR 46 only for my second time. I beat it at 12:29 seconds. Then I tried GR 47 solo. I spawned the guardian at 55 seconds left on the clock. The timer ran out when the GRift guard was at 50% hitpoints. I beat GR 47 at 16:00:093. I forgot the name of the boss, but it was the one the shoots poison and does the 360 degree, AOE poison nova.

I think I'm capped out at 46. I don't think I can beat 47 in time unless I get better rolls on my gear or fish for an ez mode GR. I never fish because I don't play that often. I also hate opening a GR only to exit game because RNGesus cursed me.

I finally got my WD to hit level 40 for the 3 set at Grift 40 achievement. Wow is it painful to do in that class. The drop rates seem horrendous as compared to the DH that I ran. None of my Zun gear is ancient. Oh well, finally done.

Next up, Sprinter. Been saving up speed gear to give it a try.

Nope, I don't want to even think about how many shards I lost trying to gamble for any leg weapon. I made it through 40 with just zun set, fetish damage and focus/restraint. Used the ground eels as the spender to gain the 275% dmg boost, toads for fetish gen and primary skill with horrify to plant enemies in place. I got lucky with a heavy density small tunnel grift where the fetishes were able to maintain everything in front on me. Cleared in under 13 minutes.

Gratz I remember doing all the season 3 achievements like 2 weeks ago. Most annoying one was gemocalypse, I had leveled 8 legendary gems to 40+ and I wasn't getting the achievement. It turns out that you have to have all the gems in a single character inventory or in your stash which is stupid. Worst part was I had to level an extra gem to finally unlock it.

This guy Sunny Decree is doing level 57 solo with a Sweep build. His Youtube videos of his runs are at the bottom of the stream in the information area. I can only do 41's so far as my Ancient weapon is pretty unremarkable. Also the lag in the game has almost completely killed it for me. Most of the time my Bash does zero damage because of the lag.

Thanks. Yeah it took me a while as with the weather turning nice I haven't been playing as much. I ran into the same bug as you did, quite annoying.

I'm going to attempt Sprinter once or twice this weekend since it's going to be nothing but rain. I did a test run of my build and I cleared A1 in 18 minutes. No idea if that is good or not but given A2 and A4 are shorter I'm hoping I can make it through. Ideally I'll catch up with 2-3 clan members and we can split run it.
 
Yeah ideally you do it with a team. Make sure everyone has leveld boon of the hoarder, wreath of lighning gems and the bracers that give run speed when destroying breakables
