No. I rubberband and I live west coast.

I think that's just because of Blizzard regardless.

I looked up the server I was connected too, and it's in San Diego. The EU server appears to be London. Now, I expect to lag if connected to the UK (it's ~100 ms), but San Diego is practically the furthest spot you could possibly be for me in the landlocked USA. Literally, there's only a 300 mile difference for me between connecting to each server (which is nothing considering that both are 3000 miles away). At this point, if you're from NH, parts of Vermont, or any further North and/or east, you might as well play on the European servers, because they'll be closer (and their downtime will be when you're sleeping, and not in the late morning).

The latency in ms just tells half the story, there is also something called jitter that determines how good/shitty your connection is.

If you want a more stable connection then get the Response rates lowered, i had to do that when i played WoW in tbc.

Not sure whether it's the summer weather or more people quit D3 but sales of previously well selling items are way down. In the past 24 hours I only sold 4 items whereas during previous weekends I had to restock the AH several times per weekend. This is for levels 15-30 and then 50-60.

General consensus is that tons of people have put the game down at this time until the next patch (PvP) that should liven the game up some. The really good thing about the game is that it's like GW2 where you just buy the game once and you can play as much as you want without a monthly fee. So expect lots of returning players at that time. And in all honesty even people that despise PvP have some interest as it's like an gladiator style competition. People want to see people get hurt and have loved doing so since the beginning of time!

If you're having fun playing continue to do so. That's what gaming is all about. And stock up on that cheap sweet gear although with Legendary items becoming relevant in that same or subsequent patch the dynamics of gearing may change to set bonuses or whatever. So keep that in mind.

Old Legendary items won't be getting a bump up in usability so I wouldn't bother buying them in hopes of it changing into something great later.

I only play a WD (I have no interest in putting 100+ hours into another character). I can run Act 1 Inferno no problem, the elite packs barely give me any problems. However I hit Act 2 Inferno and I can't do much at all. :( Totally killed my enjoyment of the game. I can do money runs to get better gear but I can't get enough fast enough to make it worthwhile in farming.

Have you tried the VQ Tank Dr. Build? It's amazing. I can run through Act 3 no problems with this build. Requires you to have at least 800+ LOH though. I found a c-knfie on AH with 800+ loh and 800 or so DPS for 200k. You use acid rain to proc LOH, and Zombie bears for dps. Passives, I think are Blood Ritual, VQ, and Jungle Fort. My other skills are Spirit Walk, Soul Harvest, Gargantuan, and BBV (+mana regen rune)

For the person doing the Pets build, be sure to use Fierce Loyalty, and rock equipment with + armour, health regen, thorns. I can run through Act 1 Inferno with a Pets build, and my Pets survive the whole time.

So..what is the point of playing with others? Harder enemies and worse drops since they are shared...

Haha that's an excellent question. I have a friend who geared up his barb for cheap and he does basically 80% of my DPS (as a DH) while having 10x the survivability. Sure it's fun when we both play, but the reality is I'm slowing him down. Of course, I'm wearing MF too (which is why I only have 44K non-SS DPS), so there's that.

But yeah, I really wish Blizzard gave an actual MF bonus (either to per stack bonus, or party bonus), instead of basically punishing you. Basically if the squishies aren't fully decked in MF gear, the melees don't really have a motivation to party up.

@LeninGHOLA - Curious what is in the next patch, assuming that's what is coming in about 24hours from now, heh heh.

I think people are just looking for the rare items in the store now. I had several blues that had better stats that about 95% of rares in the store for 1/4 the price, but people won't touch 'em. I don't really need the money, but I was actually looking to help people out by charging next to nothing for decent buyouts.

I think I'm probably done with D3 for the moment. I made it to Inferno, I'm level 60, and I have slightly lesser variants on gear that typically go for 8 figures. Inferno is no doubt hard, but it's not any different or any more fun. It's tough to be motivated to fight anything when you can't level up anymore and the gear that drops can't touch the stuff from the store.

Thing is, stuff that sell has to have almost high stats in every important category for the class. So, it has to have multiple good affixes. A blue glove with 180 int + 60 AR, looks decent, but is missing other things that gloves could have like vit, ias, crit, crit dam, mf, etc. So, with blue items, it's a tough sell b/c it can only have a max of 3 possible affixes. On the other hand, if you find blue rings with high gf or mf. These will always sell in the 100k or so range. So, don't just throw those out. Also, blue helms with high dex + vit will sell. With any item. If you think it's something decent, check the AH before throwing it out.

I'm done...pretty much same reasoning. I installed a SSD and using the old HHD as a data drive. I just don't feel motivated to download the game again.

OK people, this is really getting tiring. At this point there is really no reason to broadcast that you're done. When this first started happening, sure it was news then, but now its just old and getting irritating. This is still a Diablo 3 discussion thread, not somewhere to take your last dump and say your quitting (or even stating quitting until the game gets fixed, patched, pvp whatever bullshit). I'm sure others dont care that you're quitting or dont want to utilize a few mouse clicks to download the game again.

You don't need to be a one-size-fits-all character with high damage and survivability all rolled into one.

Pretty much all my Act3/4 runs were all in parties. Using a low damage CM/WW wizard, I tanked for a bunch of glass cannons all the way to Diablo, while they helped with softening tough mobs so I never hit the enrage timer even against those shielding teleporter guys that I can't pin down effectively.

I noticed that too, the initial wave of players have died down. Right now as it stands, good gear (as in, just below godly gear) are the only things on the auction house that hasn't cratered in price due to lower demand.

So I've enjoyed gearing out my monk and DH, but have now moved on to lvling a wizard. I'm nearly at 60, and as I progress I've been pondering a crit build. Are there any go-to/reliable references on constructing such a build? Most of the ones online seem to be composed of "I think xyz" as opposed to "I did the math" (I'm too lazy to do it myself!).

I'm interested to see what they do with legendaries. I guess it doesn't matter too much, as they really don't drop. But if they do a good job buffing them, at least there is something to look forward to.

The problem is, the issues with legendaries goes beyond simply "buffing" them. In D2 uniques had unique and special abilities on them that rares and other items didnt have, thats what made them interesting and "unique". In D3, the legendaries are the same as rares basically, uninteresting and only few are even worth keeping. Even if they did buff them, they are still uninteresting and boring.

Right. They will need unique modifiers and well thought out uses for me to give a shit.

Forgive me if this is a nub question, but is there a list somewhere that shows the maximum MF value you can get on each piece of armor?

Basically I'm trying to build a MF set to farm with and it seems like 20% is the highest except for amulets?

Yeah most gear caps out at 20%. Amulets are an exception and can have a disproportionately higher stat value than any other piece of gear. Amulets cap at 40% and I think rings top out at 18% since they're ilvl 62. Shields and other off hands can have MF too. Your follower can add MF to your total, but only 20% of his/her gear (if your follower has 100% MF equipped, you only get 20% MF).

Is the follower a hard cap? Or is it a ratio up to 20%

It's just a 20% ratio. A follower can have up to 96% MF I believe. 2x 18% from rings, 40% from amulet, and 20% from shield (Templar). The Enchantress can't hold off hands and I don't think the Scoundrel does either. So unless their special item slots can have MF on em, that makes 19.2% the absolute highest MF that can go towards your total.

Adding a topaz to a socketed helm also gives MF.

Brady games guide to D3 has list of what can be rolled on each item.

No, can you show me a link to your build or write out the other skills you use? I've heard of the VQ builds but I can't think of too many useful skills to have that require cool down to get the mana regen of VQ.

There are two critical mass builds, the most common being the tanking permafreeze one: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#VOYXhQ!aXg!YcYacY
There's also another one using Critical Mass on Archon, never tried it though since it's significantly more gear dependent.

You can pretty much read windupwizard.com for everything you need to know for the common crit build for wizards.

It's just a 20% ratio. A follower can have up to 96% MF I believe. 2x 18% from rings, 40% from amulet, and 20% from shield (Templar). More than that, 121% to be precise.
Templar can equip this weapon for another 25% MF.

Does this just mean balance is fucked? If it requires more gear, then it's not as good.

Im assuming it just means that it is more of a dpser which is more expensive which means more gear dependent. Its pretty cheap building the tanking crit mass wiz, which wouldn't be considered gear dependent.
Basically gear dependent = expensive
Not gear dependent = cheap

I find that the templar follower is actually quite good if you equip him with actually useful gear rather than just MF gear. Stacking STR/VIT on the Templar yields very satisfactory results when you also give him the charge skill. He takes initial aggro and holds it quite well on all but elite/champion packs especially if you want a couple seconds before piling on your own damage.

Yeah I switched to the Enchantress for a while and although the attack speed bonus is nice, my survivability significantly dropped. That's even with the 15% armor bonus she gives. I guess every bit of distraction from the templar on top of his heals adds up in the end. This is as Wizard btw. I have him loaded up with survivability gear so his dps is shit, but I think his effective health is north of 750k. I haven't upgraded his rings though.

Man this thread really dropped off, symbolic of the drop off in player count in the game itself? I know I'm sitting out for at least a few patches.

I'd be playing right now except for error fucking 33. Maintenance is 10 hours today and most likely only for the SC2 patch or MoP....FU Blizz.
