Desktop Travel Bags?

I fly from TN to OH for a LAN party each year. My cases have been too big to bring with me, so I've always used a loner. The case I'm using now (Lian Li A05FNB) meets carry-on standards, so I aim to bring it next time and stow it away on the plane. I just don't know what the hell to put it in.

I imagine it'll be pretty safe in the overhead bin, so whatever I use won't have to be bulky or have a whole lot of padding. Just something I can maybe zip up over it. I plan to tape some half inch foam panels to the sides, so the bag could actually made of nylon. I'm thinking the zipper route might be best due to the potential for airport security to want to check it out.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Wrap it in a shirt and place it in a duffel bag.

If you have some packing peanuts and gallon size or larger ziplock zipper bags, you could stuff a few on the insides to stabilize it. Ziplock bags so the peanuts don't break apart inside and get everywhere.
