Dell Sata raid card, will it work in a standard PCI slot?

I'm Frankenstein-ing an old PC to be a server, and I have dell 4 port sata raid controller (it's the model that is identical to 2410sa). The question is, can this be installed into a standard PCI slot? Will this be a big enough hit in performance as to effect network storage for a HTPC?

btw, it won't. At least not in an old P4PE.

It should work. I have the 6 port variant working in an Asus P4P800 right now.
